Phenomenal shooter though- sad to see he won't be there.
That link you gave is old information. Potts' IPA World Championship was in January of 2014.

Long way to go to not get to play in the main tournament.
Bad attitude by Jayson. He posted on FB whining about playing an opponent in an isolated room with no audience, he said he lost because his opponent didn't have any pressure playing without the audience, I paraphrase "the guy would never run out in front of an audience".
Kind of unbelievable to me, lost some respect to him. What a d*ckhead !

Potts didn't play in the World Championship last year either. I believe it was due to the fact that he is sponsored by Joy, which hosts the other big Chinese 8-ball tournament, the Chinese 8-Ball Masters.

Interesting. Shaw lost to Hiroshi Takenaka and Lee Vann Corteza, both of whom have played plenty in front of audiences.

For what;s worth, Jayson was talking about the 1st qualifier, not the 2nd where he lost to Lee Van. I'm pretty sure he referred to the 1st match he lost there, but I don't know against who.

I think Jayson's onto something here...
Nobody watches my matches either, maybe that's why everyone always runs out on me so easily.

As I posted, the name of his first victor was Hiroshi Takenaka, someone who is no stranger to audiences.

Were you referring to Lee Van Corteza? Because I play in the same pool hall where he practices, and I know how well he handles his composure. It doesnt matter if there's 300 people watching. People who side-bet during his games stand around the table when he plays, yet the noise and the limited space do not affect him. Places like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YbwEjFUtw-A are very typical for a Filipino player like Corteza. It makes me wonder - can Shaw play on places like this??? LOL

Please read the whole thread.

Also, it's irrelevant whether his opponent, whoever he is, would choke or not, who cares ???

The point here is Jayson d*ckhead attitude. He literally admitted that skill-wise he can't beat his opponent and he whined about a ridiculous detail because he need the "extra edge" to beat his opponent.

Some people make excuses in the heat of the moment, right after a loss.

Other people lose the match, have time to think about it, and upon reflection... still whine like a little *****? LOL
