I know there are some great ones, but admittedly, I've never been to Vegas. My wife has a TDY there in June and I'm thinking of tagging along. We'll be staying at Bally's. Are there any nice places to play within walking distance?

The Cue Club on Sahara will be closest to you. I wouldn't walk there though.

They have handicapped 9-Ball tourneys on Tuesdays & Thursdays at about 7PM. You will start as a 10, so you better be able to play.

Thanks. We'll only be there Friday through Monday. So I would miss the tourney. I was just hping for some place close, while she's in class, since I'm not much on casino games.

There are none in walking distance from Bally's, especially in June when the temps get to 100. Take a cab to Pool Sharks or Cue Club. I think there are a couple of other new ones out there now.

LVPD has cleaned out the gangs at Cue Club, so it's the place to play now.

Pool Sharks and Cue club have weekly tourneys.

Sharks 9-ball monday wendsday night handicaped

cue club tuesday thursday 9-ball handicapped

there are a few others but none close to Bally's these are the best options.

What kind of entry fee would one expect? How does the handicapping work?

Obviously Im not from around there but would like to see some good players.

you would start at a 10 that is the highest point it takes about 3 to 4 tourneys to really become established if you are someone like me you start as a 10 get beat 2 and out by 7's that shoot like 10 plus. Entry fee 10 to 20 plus calcutta if having one at all it depends i have not live d there for a few years probablly has changed, but the handicapped system is the same.

Sounds like everyone should come and watch me have my ass handed to me as a ten. I think Im going to have to photograph my name beside a ten as I normally play as a 5. hahaha.

Its kinda weird how they handicap because im an apa 6, i lost last week to a 3 they downed me to a 6. In Vegas a 10 is like a 7 most leagues only go to 7 but there 5,6,7, are stronger then the 10's due to being established in the handicapping system its all foreign language to me lol. they do not have 2's and 3's it starts at 4 and up so it equals out.

You can get a 24hr bus pass for the strip for $5...The double decker buses.

Take that all the way down the stip like you are going to the "old" strip, but get off on Sahara (I believe....right at the end of the new strip about a mile past Riviera & Circus Circus...

Transfer to the normal city bus (the pass works on that bus also) as if you were making a right turn on that street.

You will see the Cue Club (I think) on your right hand side about a mile or so up that road.

To get back just do everything in reverse....and then you still have the pass in case you want to go anywhere else on the strip and don't want to pay $5 to $10 for each transport.
