The head has flat bottomsHow does it cut flat bottom threads?
So, the cutter shown in the picture is not the cutter being sold, it doesn't appear to be a flat bottom cutter? Trying to understand this, please bear with my ignorance. If one cuts flat bottom ferrule threads like shown in the second picture, and uses those flat bottoms for alignment, the purpose of that cutting profile, it seems that tight fit would displace so much glue it would increase the risk of a dry joint? Thus I assume you cut longitudinal glue reliefs into the threads? Seems the less perfect fit of a normal vee cutter would reduce that risk. Also, since the ferrule gets trimmed to size anyway, near perfect alignment of the oversize ferrule blank seems unimportant. I have a feeling I'm missing something here. Do you actually cut flat bottom threads for ferrules? The head has flat bottoms
The ferrule tenon in the picture is 16;tpi. But, it's still good for 18 tpi.So, the cutter shown in the picture is not the cutter being sold, it doesn't appear to be a flat bottom cutter?
