1955-1959 Brunswick Anniversary 9 foot- Stunning

$Sold...............

I'm pleased to announce that tomorrow I will be the proud new owner of a sixty year old Anniversary pool table. I have no place to store it and no where to set it up, so I guess that makes me a little crazy. Or someone who has always loved that particular table and couldn't pass up the chance to own one, and a very nice one at that. All for the same price as a good cue.

I'm like a guy who has always wanted a Ferrari and never had one. I feel the same about the much coveted Anniversary. I am currently making space in my garage to store it, among the boxes of DVD's, magazines, posters etc. I have no idea what I will do with it but at least I have the option to some day install it somewhere. It will absolutely NOT replace the Diamond in my game room! That is a certainty.

It's like the "maybe" Balabushka I just bought in Tunica. It's almost certainly a Burton Spain blank that it's made from and some things make it look like the real deal, but it will be very hard to authenticate and I know it. There were no original shafts with it, "only" two of the most beautiful hard rock white maple shafts with ivory ferrules supposedly made by Andy Gilbert.

So the guy wants $2,500 for this cue and I show it to a couple of pretty knowledgeable guys who both tell me they aren't sure what it is. I hammer him down to 1K and now it's mine. I get it home and start to hit balls with the cue a couple of days ago. WOW is all I have to say! What a sweet hit for a very old cue, quite reminiscent of the feel of my Bushka's from years past. I'm into it so cheap I think I will just keep it (my original plan was to flip it) and play with it.

I guess I'm a sucker, but at least I suck for things that make me happy.

You probably wouldn't be amazed at how many people can relate. I am one of many having just bought a 10-foot Anniversary that I don't have a place for ... yet.
Congrats, Jay!
