Yes to Archer and Jay
No to Shane and Varner
Shane-he is an introvert. The best for captain from current team is Rodney
Varner- decent record won 1 out of 3 . Better to drain the swamp and try new captain

But heck many Azb vets here can do better job than the disaster this year.

Even "rolls" Lou can do better job

I'm with you on Rodney...throughout this year's event, he's been "Mr. Positive"! I loved how he played the crowd after his singles win against Shaw. Father time may have caught up with him a bit with vision...but he's got my vote as both captain and player. (Not that my vote matters worth a tinker's dam.)

Helfert or Incardona. All other choices listed are objectionable to me.

You got that right Sir!

Rodney with a bullet!!

Johnny archer must be a joke. He's tried his luck plenty of times.
No player is good to be the coach, way to much conflict of interest then. They would. Ultimately like in the past pick thier buddies as the captains picks, to give them the free handout of money.

I like Earl and Joe Rogan/Billy I.

Rodney and Tony Robles would be cool.

Mark's heart is in the right place, but give me just about anyone other than him an williebetmore.

Come to think of it, Mark and Tony could work.

I'd love to see that shot taken! I feel like both of them get it, I'm at the point where I just wish us to be competitive at this point. They have a bigger talent pool and a higher class of player available to them (if you go by the stats anyway), but there has to be more we can do.

They have been stealing that money though, just read what any of the players post all the time...second they say something like "....doesn't prove or mean anything" you already know the mentality.

Jeremy Jones or Earl, nobody has more knowledge of the game than these two. I believe they would understand the style of each player better than anybody else and that would make coaching that much easier and effective.

My vote would be for..

Tony Robles - I heard that he was asked about being the captain a few years back but they went in a different (losing) direction..

Earl Strickland - this would be so entertaining to watch..

Earl's the ticket... Pay him not to shave or cut his hair for the year, and the ratings go through the roof.

How about all of them? Have them each put together a team of their own and let the teams play a series of mini-events leading up to the Mosconi Cup and the team that does the best overall goes on to play in the main event. You could even have them just put together teams of 4 and have the final player decided by the top American finisher in the US Open.

Agreed on Tony Robles, one of pool's classiest guys and a former Mosconi Cup winner with great experience as an instructor. Seems to have the credentials needed in a captain.
