It's that time of the year for the biggest Snooker tournament of the season. Starts next Saturday April 16th, and should be streaming on DAZN and matchroom.live, though I can't say for certain if there will be any differences between the two.

These are the current betting odds...

If you want to bet outside the top 4, I think there is decent value in Kyren, Zhao, Allen, Hawkins, and Bingham.

my pick is Judd Trump, never thought I would say this but I think his ceiling has exceeded Ronnie's

Judd is always in contention, but Neil is probably the hottest player on the tour right now.

Who knows, maybe this is Kyren's chance. He seems to improve every year.

those betting lines are unreasonable. ding, who is qualifying now and seems to barely get by journeyman david lilley, is not 8th pick. he's below mcgill imo.

zhao is the outside bet for me this year (going to the final, so outright * 0.5). and have trump as outright. got to put him above robertson, who doesn't seem to adapt his pre-shot routine to the crammy crucible. he hates the place. selby has had health issues, higgins might be a solid contender

Tough draw for Ronnie, but he should make it through if he can continue his recent form. Trump and Selby are unlikely to do much. Although Trump has had tournament success recently, he has not been playing well at all.
Robertson and Ronnie are both on playing very well and will be tough to beat, but from outside the top four Zhao is a good bet and as an outsider Jamie Jones is really playing some great snooker at the moment.

Out of the two Thai lads, I think Noppon can cause an upset, but Uh Nooh has possibly the worst draw possible for him, as Higgins' smart play is kryptonite for his fluid potting game.
Great prize money as per normal:-

Here's an interesting interview with Ronnie O'Sullivan. He doesn't like post-match interviews and those tend to be "unusual' but this one is pretty good. He is currently ranked #1 due to a lot of recent high finishes if not firsts, but is seeded 2nd in the WC since the defending champion (Selby) is seeded first.

I think DAZN is the way to watch in the US. Ronnie is on Saturday at 9:30AM Eastern, 6:30AM Pacific with the second half of the match on Sunday at the same time.

I ended up betting Ronnie, Zhao and Bingham to win it.
Zhao is a great bet. He has started off well, which based off of how his season has been going is ominous for the rest of the field.

Meanwhile, my dark horse bet Jamie Jones is getting smashed by Selby, so what do I know?

Ronnie off to a rough start, trailing 3-1, but did just make a century in the last frame before the interval.

Ha, look at me. "Century", "Frame", "Interval"

I'm becoming a regular ol' Brit.

Wow, too funny. The first match when I tuned in was Gilbert/O'Sullivan. I'm guessing that as they entered, the music played was "Alone Again Naturally".

Isn't John Higgins they guy who was caught on video agreeing to fix matches? What's the angle on letting that guy play?

He was cleared of the charge of fixing matches, but he did serve a 6 month suspension on lesser charges.

I've seen the video. I'm surprised he is still allowed and therefore the question - what is the angle on letting him play?
