This is Francesca Candela from Italy when he was playing Jayson Shaw. Look how he holds the butt end of his cuestick. His hand is turned inwards. Also, unlike the other pros, he's using a carbon fiber shaft with no glove.

I used to try and copy Keith waayy back and while I couldn't get the hang of it (double duh) this inward crook works almost the same as Keith's sidewinder stroke. The surprising thing about these strokes is they compensate for all the screwy linkage from your brain to the cue ball.

Good interview of Jayson Shaw by Karl Boyes about yesterday's matches. Jayson is opening up a new pool room in the Middle East. Wow!

Someone tell Jeremy that it’s a “push out” after the break and not a “roll out” that he has been calling it. They have two different meanings and the refs are clearly saying Push.
Can you elaborate Jay?
I've always treated the two phrases as interchangeable.

Kudos to Alex Lely commenting on the Tyler match. At Mosconi cup they had some pretty heated interactions off camera. Alex hasn’t shown any sign of his personal feelings about Tyler at all that I’ve heard.

They are almost interchangeable, but not quite. Roll Out actually refers to a variation of 9-Ball that is no longer played. And a “roll out” can be played on any shot, not just after the break.

A “push out” can only be played after the break. It is also the term used in the rules to describe this shot and the one the referees use when calling it. To call it a roll out after the ref says push out may be confusing to some fans new to the game.

In conclusion I would suggest that being consistent with the description of this particular shot is best.

Look above at post #205, and you will see we have new fans joining our pool party. I suspect there are many more watching the telecasts. Let’s make it easy for them to get acquainted with our game and its terminology. What seems basic to us may not be to a pool newbie.

Tyler says has to quit due to an eye problem with Albin on the hill 10-5.
It looked like he motioned to his eyes when he walked over to Albin, and I had a feeling it was something vision related. That's gotta be the worst when you're at this level of tournament.

Did Shane or Alex play today yet?

Do you guys remember when Alex won the WC, he bet something huge on himself, something like 75k? I remember an article about it at the time. But it’s been 20 years so I don’t remember it well. I was hoping Karl would have brought that up on his interview with him.

I remember that Thorsten did that too, and it saved his pool career.

What's a "roll out"?

Edit: Never mind-Read your other reply
