With Carter losing, we're now at 3 upsets in Round 1.

In the last 10 years, the most first round upsets was 7 in 2016. The fewest was 2 in 2021.

Maguire over Carter was not much of an upset. 10 vs. 7.

Gilbert over Brecel was big on paper, but Brecel is a little too random to consider any loss an upset.

Zhang Anda looked really uncomfortable when I was watching but maybe that's because he was already behind (to Jak Jones).

Interesting ending in the Wilson/Bingham session.

Wilson gets to 60-0 and misses an easy black. Bingham comes to the table and gets to 63-60 just needing the final black to win. It's an easy one, but he bobbles it and hangs it for Wilson to get the re-steal.

saw the highlight reel now. wilson shoots every ball at warp speed as usual. but it's his style, he uses much less side spin than others and it probably benefits him more than it punishes

on the other end of spectrum is o'connor, very "feely" stroke. he started off as a pool player. no lead is safe against selby though, not even 9-5

The way Selby is playing and the way he looks I'd say he's done unless he can get to 9-8
