60 Players at the Viking Cue Amateur Tour Event in Atlanta at Mr Cues 2

What about those players whom you consider too good to play in your Am. events but have real jobs or aren't good enough to play on a "pro tour". I guess those players who have invested hard time improving their games are just shit out of luck, huh?

Brian?, as I stated.

. However, the Open players need not worry yet because we will not abandone our open tour until there is a set pro system in place for those players to advance in.

To further expound, If and when this happens my plans for the Viking Tour will include another division. It will not be an OPEN division but more like an intermediate division. This new "Intermediate" division would be for the players above the amateur status but below professional status. This division would ensure that players that are skilled above amateur status but not quite professionals will be able to continue their passion of cuesports in organized tournament competition. The proposed guidelines for the intermediate division (NOT SET IN STONE only PROPOSED) would not allow any player that has ever been in the top 32 of any professional calibur tour (ie, PBT, UPA, IPT, WPA, WPBA) to participate in the intermediate division. At this point this new proposed system is highly speculative and is only being considered in the event of a standardized professional tour here in the US.

Mike I think you will have a tough time eliminating players just based on IP and AZ and tracking wins.
You excluded a guy that no one in the event would question.

I think we as players would rather trust your opinion or a couple peoples opinion rather than one events results that happen to have been tracked
online.
Also is first in one event really better than several high finishes.

I dont envy your job resposibilities in this but I would trust your judgement
as a player. I am glad you are going to be heading towards the amatuer events.

Hopefully one day you can get out here to the Left Coast

instead of two divisions, why not have one division that is open to all but the top 32 as mentioned above - that would eliminate the open players pretty much and still give the amateurs a run at the money. just a thought - seems like a lot more work than is needed.

Meh! I wish I'd known about this. I would have come over and met some of you fellow internet axe-murderers. :P

mmm. Jesse must have radar detectors in every pool room. Good thing hes never won a 'open tournament' ha...
