I'm sure many threads have been written on the differences in table size. The conventional wisdom says that the larger tables are more difficult to play on. Some have questioned the validity of Willie Mosconi's 500+ run in straight pool due to the fact that it was done on an 8 foot table. I have played on tables of all sizes and though it may seem counterintuitive I play better on 9 foot tables as opposed to bar boxs. Although the bar box offers shorter shots I find that position play is more difficult. On the big table there is simply more room to work with when attempting to gain position. I also find that there tends to be less obstructions due to the fact that the rack has more space to scatter. I consider myself a good distance shooter so the lenght of the shots do not effect my ability to run balls. I was wandering if anyone else had a similar viewpoint or am I completely off base.
