I think you may be referring to the Anchor Nurse Shot from Balkline Billiards

If a player can arrange to have the two object balls on either side of a balkline, then that player can hit the balls in such a way that they hardly move. If the two balls are not in the same box, then one could technically hit them in place for indefinite amount of time.

Some Danish Girl is making Danish=>English=>Polish dictonary which includes pool idioms. That was a question from her and i got no clue what anchor shot or space is and couldnt find it on the web. i'm sure she will be grateful for the explanation.
