I've read a couple threads on here regarding these balls and the reviews have generally been very positive. Before I pull the trigger on these (they're not cheap) if you own these balls or have played with them please give me your thoughts.

Also, if you purchased these at below the standard price (I think $240) and are happy with whom you bought them from, that info would be appreciated.

I have seen them on ebay for $189 brand new from an authorized dealer and was wondering if anyone here on AZ purchased them from that retailer (Nielsen's Billiards)?

Thanks in advance for replies,

I haven't played with them, but they look like IPT tournament ball sets that used to sell for $89.

Hi there,

I own both an Aramith Tournament set and an Aramith Super Pro - the only difference I noticed is the looks of the balls (tournament balls have a better look with the number circled). Otherwise in playing - no real difference to be honest...I purchased the tournament set hoping not to burn my cloth as much, but when you shoot harder / break, any type of ball burns the cloth I guess...

Nielsen's Billiards is to be trusted.

Hope this helps.

M.

Nielsens are good people. I stop by their physical store in Springfield IL whenever I need something I know they carry. Aramith high end is the only way. Take care of them and they will take care of you.

dont buy from Mercantila

Just thought I would throw this in this thread. Recently I decided to buy the Aramith super pro set and did a google search to find the best price. Something called Mercantila came up and their price was $135,

the next best was several stores at $154. Clicked on the link and saw that I might be able to save even more if I called them, so I did. The woman I talked to took another $3 off so it came to $132 for the

Aramith Super pro set and I made sure that it was the super pro set vice the next 2 lower priced ones. She assured me it was, so I ordered it. The picture in the add showed the proper set of 16 balls and they

were the super pro's.

Well a package showed up about a week later and it was the Aramith super pro 3 ball carom set. So I called them and explained the mistake and they said someone would contact me very soon and resolve

the problem. Without going into detail, suffice it to say that about 2 weeks later i still have the wrong set of balls and if i can get them to refund my money their own site says it takes 4 weeks to get my money back.

So be forewarned using Mercantila.

They feel different from the super pros, the duramith coating is nice. I think they are the best balls on the market period!

I got the Aramith tournament set for well below $240 (can't remember exactly) from Mike at Cheapcues.com who is a paying member here. Good guy and good service, I've bought other stuff from him before. I can't vouch for his current price because my purchase was before the across the board price increase at Saluc.

BTW, if you can't find them for less than $240 I would suggest buying them through either the AZ Marketplace or PoolDawg. Both are reliable companies and probably grant free shipping at that price. Cheapcues may also offer free shipping.
