Kim played in the Music City Open this January and shot pretty sporty.
Yeah........ kinda.... maybe............................................... shadow might know.Devils Advocate, if the “night club” scene is bringing in the money, why change it to cater to the serious players? (And I’m assuming it is, but no idea).
That’s what Freezer’s did.
They still have pool league but don't run tournaments anymore. The tables are playable, but even their management will admit the pool tables are not their priority. If I was as successful as they are, I wouldn't care about the pool tables either. To their credit, at least they're not advertising that they're a pool hall. They cater to their demographic and it's working.I have not heard a good payer review of "Mills Modern Social" either.
I have no idea how the business is doing after being converted to basically a sports bar (from what I've heard).
Even when I was in AZ, I never went to MMS.
On the other hand, if they are making hand over foot in money, why not keep the tables tip top? Even if it's not the core business, it would show pride of ownership. As a poolroom / grill owner and manager for the past 27 years, there is absolutely no excuse for a dirty neglected pool table in a poolroom - just a bottom line reflection of poor management and absentee owners. On the other hand, if they are making hand over foot in money, why not keep the tables tip top? Oscar Dominguez is certainly one who appears to be successfully owning / managing the various revenue producing aspects of Hard Times Billiards in Sacramento, with the help of his wife and his father. Knowing his Dad as I have for 25+ years, this comes as no surprise to me.Very few pro pool players are good at managing food and beverage business's...
On a similar note, same goes with creating a Viable pro tour.
Larry Hubbart and Terry Bell are one of the few exceptions, they steered away from the pros.... formed the APA.
Agreed. There is a Dave and Busters near Cincinnati Ohio that had 9ft tables, like 5 of them, and they were kept in great condition. They even had a 5x10 snooker table at one point. Would be interested to see if they are still there.Add the Dave and Buster's chain to the list of places going away from dealing with pool, two of the ones I visited I knew had tables in earlier to play a bit while waiting for some things had removed their pool tables, and two new ones I have visited never had any put in. They had some good quality tables, good looking and solid, and kept in good shape.
