Just had an accident Thursday night that resulted in a severed brachial artery tendons an muscle. Took two hours of surgery to repair. Anyone have a similar surgery and a time frae to when I might be able to shoot again? Dr saidi should have full motion in the hang again in 12 months

Wow sounds like you are very lucky. The body only holds about 5 liters of blood, and the brachial artery is the first artery after the aorta, so it's possible to lose all the blood in the body if the artery is cut badly enough. Arteries are made to close when blood pressure drops, but if they are cut at an angle, that cannot happen. So since the body pumps 5 liters of blood a minute, you can bleed out very quickly. Yeah the fact the neighbor is an emt is probably hat saved my life. The brachial artery shoots blood pretty far!:eek:
 
Sorry to hear about your accident. The only advice I can give is to not take too much stock in any brochures related to the surgery. I had both my hips replaced ten years ago. The brochures said that I could dance and bowl six weeks after the surgery. After ten years, I still can't do either.
