I recently had a chance to hit a few balls with deanocs cue with an ash shaft that I believe he received from you. I have to say I was pretty impressed with it.

I have finished out some of these nice ash shafts. To say they are nice quality, straight grained and a pleasure to work with. Would be a gross understatement!

Thanks for all the nice comments, and for the record the shafts were made by Cory Barnhart and Paul Drexler and weight between 3.3 to 4.1 oz.

I'd love to try one, if they play as good or
better than maple then they are worth a
pretty penny. Hard to beat a good maple
shaft, but if ash does, then wow.

Deanoc, send me that Vigas so I'l know
for sure...haha.

Thanks for showing and I still hope I can
make it to the Expo.

Having helped cut the Ash from logs into planks to be air dried and having turned several dozen squares cut from those boards into actual shafts I can tell you the Ash produces excellent playing results.

If you get a chance you may want to ask Mike Deschain how he likes the Ash shaft that I made for him - yes, he is playing in all major events with OB equipment and that is unlikely to change, however, his favorable comments on the Ash were very telling.

When it comes to finding Ash for shaftwood - you can stop looking Eric has it - but I would not wait too long to purchase some . . . . the Eastcoast is being infiltrated by the Emerald Ash Borer Beetle which is killing ash trees as we speak - so it may not be too long before ANY Ash is extremely difficult to come by - let along the high quality pieces Eric and I cut for cue.

This is no exaggeration I live in Northeast Ohio and I have lost almost 40 beautiful Ash trees over the last 3years to the Emerald Ash Borer Beetle.
