Just to participate in the recent popularity of polls here's one I thought would pan out interesting.

For those who haven't played much straight pool, if you consider yourself a student of the game you should.

I have run 30s several times, but my all time run is 63. I would kill to top the 100 mark!!

High run of 58, several 30-40s in there. Used to be able to consistantly run 20-30 with a nice screwed up breakshot ending the run..... :(

From breaking and running as in a practice session I have made 39 as my high. However, in an actual competitive match, my best was 25, so I voted on that run.

BTW, if cuejoey asks, tell him it was a 105...it keeps him nervous! =o)

DOH!! you shoulda voted for your 39!

Everyone else Learn from Donovans mistake.... setting up a breakshot and taking off counts.

Way to mess up the poll Donovan.... lol J/K

I had an 82 unfinished -- my opponent quit. A few days later I had a 75 and out, also unfinished, and another 75 where I had to play safe. I was sure within the next few days I'd go over a 100. But it didn't happen. Shortly after that period, I drifted away from pool owing to my obsession with golf. I hardly ever played over the next 10 years, until 5 years ago, when I returned to pool again.

Now I play straight pool once a week on a Diamond ProAm with procut pockets. I haven't been able to break 50 on that table. Great table, but so unforgiving!

I still think I'll get to 100 someday. Maybe after I get Lasik :).

IF Travis Trotter has actually run 300+ as his vote shows, I take back any and all comments or thoughts of his possible mental retardation. :)

I have played very little of this great game so I've only managed a few in the 40's. I wish I had more time to play.

:( YOU NEVER RAN A BALL OVER 70 AND YOU KNOW IT DONOVAN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:(

On my Diamond ProAm, I can consistently get in the 40's, but have yet to get past 50 (I just got the table a few months ago and I'm still getting used to the pro cut). Prior to that, 70 was my high on a looser table at a local hall.

I haven't played much 14.1, I should give it a shot for a few weeks. I play 9-ball most of the time, but lately I've been playing a lot of 1 Hole...

I once ran 99 and dogged an easy 100th ball. I haven't played the game much in the last 20 years but the old tables made high runs possible. The tight equipment we use out here now makes a 50 ball run a difficult proposition for me.

I think somebody ought to tell that website that was keeping track of 14.1 high runs that there is another person ahead of Greenleaf, Archer, Robles and Murphy.
