The picture of Johnny was taken in my home pool room (Herman & Ann's Billiards) before I moved to Houston. That is a 5x10 tight pocket snooker table that is over 150 years old. My memory is not the best in the world, but I believe it was taken about 92' or 93'.

I been there to Hermans.........came trhu there playing a few years back. They use to have 10 or 20 dollar open game on that table. It was after 91 or right around there.......thats the date on the mag.

That was back when Bobby Jones was around, roadies were coming through all of the time because they knew that Bobby would lose all he had and all he could borrow or get staked by more than 1 stakehorse. One of the craziest SOB's I have ever met and he would bet the farm dont worry. Them were good times back then.
I could go on and on about him, but I will spare you guys.

I played there before at Herman.....I played an old guy some one pocket. We played all night till I gave out. Could believe the old man out lasted me.I was up all night and he came back to get even. I remember Bobby......he stayed in in Pensacola awhile......a few years back. He is a nut.........but funny nut. He was playing one night at Fireside here.......he was playing 500.00 sets and down a few. He wasn't happy and was bein loud. Some guy playing by them was playing a guy for 10 a game.........He told bobby to shut the #### up, they are gambling over here! Bobby came unglued.......They argued for awhile till they almost went outside to fight for some cash. Bobby is a character......use to always be intertaining. And the only player I have ever seen that got better the more he drank!

No it wasn't Jr. I know him too. I heard Jr was still playing at Hermans. He is a Legend! When you see Jr tell him Huck and Chuck from Milton Florida said hey! He use to come are here years back, he knew my great uncle Jesse James. About the guy I played at hermans....................Think the guys name was John .....mean old man! and tall I think. Hey how about this name from Dothan.......Corky.......or Jimmy King!

Jr. is a legend and he still plays but not as much, still knows more about the game than anyone that I have ever met.

Jimmy King was just living in Dothan for awhile back when Bobby was around. He lives out here in Houston.

Yeah I know Morty......Me and Josh Kirby came thru Dothan...................I believe that was the guy I played,,,,,he was a mean old guy. I had him down to his last barrel.....after he had got some cash from Herman.....do the old guy was still playin as smart as he did when we started, and it was like 6 in the morning when we finally quit. As for Corky I have known him a long time, and I know why ya ain't sayin much. Didn't Herman run him off. And as for Paul......you mean one arm Paul Hay???

It has been 4 years probably. Me josh morty and a dude named shawn (which we left there,not on good terms! LOL) stayed there for a short time. ..........No josh is here in pensacola. He posts on here too. That John Schimidt just moved here.....josh practices with him alot. That guy is amazing.
I know Shawn, and if my memory serves me correctly I remember that trip. He stayed there for a while and wore the same green and black nike jacket and the same green pants every night.
I lived in Ft. Walton for awhile back in the early 90's. I am sure we know each other.

Lmao......thats all he had! We were there for like a month......then just went around that area and back to Dothan. I played a black guy at Ron Readdys place I think its Pockets?? The one that sold tables too. We started at 5 a game. After 2 games he wanted to bet 10. and this guy couldn't play at all.....If he made 4 balls in a row HE was surprised. After 2 for 10 I was up 30 bucks. Then he said lets bet 20.........he lost 2 for 20 and wanted to bet 40........he never won a game. His buddies we around laughin at him....I ended up winnin over 500.......I had to count it in the bath room cause it was all in 10s and 20s............found out the guy was some drug dealer....and could careless about the cash. But we did have problems when we left............

When I went in the bath room a guy followed me in. He was a black guy but older named John. Thats where I remembered that name. He was a road player and a few days before that he said he would show us some games. But never did. He came in near the end of my game..........but he came in the bathroom and said he wanted his cut!......his 20% or something. I just laughed at him and left the bathroom. I told josh what he said, and josh said %$#% him! Us 4 left sortly after that.....and that dude John followed us out side with the guy I played. John told him we were hustlers or something.......But John grabbed Morty by the shirt and me Shawn and Josh started towards John and he let him go.........and we just left before we had to do something we might regret. Not sure if he was from Dothan but Herman knew him and told him the next day at his pool room when he came in there........that he needed to leave. The benifts of Hermans being a Private Club..........if he says you go....YOU GO!
