Beloit, WI - The Carom Room - $1000 Added - Sept 27th

Anyone can play! Bring your "A" game and give it a shot against the best players in the area for only $35. If you like calcutta action this could be very big!

Ladies play free in the open events.

Not everyone can be playing in the Chicago area APA tournament. Only $35 and ladies play free in this event.

How many people turned out for the September 13th tournament. Who won? Payouts?

Thanks! I wanted to make it but had a wedding to go to that day.

The "no masters" event on the 13th had 47 players. The calcutta generated over $2300. Total payouts were over $4000 for the event.

The payouts are being added to the website currently and should be availalbe very soon. I will provide a link when it is available.

Btw, remind all of the Milwaukee champions that Beloit is on 43 South...

Thanks, Dean.

I'm only one of Dave Cole's helpers. The tourney and format are his ideas. He hosts, auctions, directs and plays and does a really great job in all aspects. Feel free to give him a call and congratulate him!

It also contains info for weekly tournaments as well. Check out that Thursday night tourney with a break & run pot over 9k now!!

Do you have any 9 ft. tables and do you ever have tournaments on them? I would gladly drive to Beloit for them.

Yes, besides the 14 bar tables there are 6 Gold Crown nine footers, 1 Diamond nine footer, 1 Verhoeven heated billiard table and and 1 snooker table that sees lots of golf games.

None of the tournaments are on the big tables right now. However, the Thursday night tournament uses the Diamond nine footer for the break n run attempt. It's a tough table and must be why the pot is now over 9k.

Of course they have a full bar and kitchen with plenty of seating, lots of tv's and plenty of parking. Also one of the few places I go to that keeps the coffee fresh even in the evening.

Getting plenty of interest so make your plans to be here. Should be some action with all of the available tables.

You only need to play in one event to be eligible for the final tournament with even more money added!!

Well its nice to see some tournys that are actually getting some players. The only thing I could see going wrong here is that if your going to advertise (NO MASTERS)maybe it should be no masters.

Are you saying that someone who played should not have been allowed? It's certainly possible a mistake was made. BUT, I'd be willing to bet that anyone who was in the tourney was either hashed over by Dave and Co. as to their eligibility or somebody fell through the cracks. JMO

Any constructive criticism is welcome!

From my years of experience around the pool scene it seems when a magical line is drawn (i.e. no masters/open ) that there are players who could go either way. I have also found that a good faith effort resolves those issues over time.

Everyone should feel free to offer suggestions!

Greg Andler is on every masters list in the state of wisconsin how could you miss that. Listen im not trying to start any problems here..I think the world of dave and what he does for pool. You just dont find guys out there that are as down to earth is as dave. The way the ecomy is today he runs a awesome business and is going to be 1 of few pool halls that are going to survive this.
In my first post I was giving props to this tourny.

State lists do not count! We go by national lists and known ability. Gregg has played VNEA and BCA nationals many times is and is not on any "masters" list.

Is he one of those people who are borderline? Quite possibly and if he does well a few times in a row he most assuredly will be moved to the "open" class for the Carom Room events.

The payouts looked pretty good to me so several people made money in the tourney & calcutta. I also noticed a player who did not cash in the last WIBCA "B" singles finished in 5th place. I'd say the field was pretty wide open then for a "no masters" event!
