Best Game I Ever Played

Last night I lefy work early. Went home and took my wife out to dinner. We went to the First Break Cafe in Sterling, VA. and had a steak dinner,"thanks Pete". After dinner we decided to knock around a few balls. She plays with a nicely inlaid Pink Ivory cue with a leather wrap made by Blud. Personally signed "To Susan, The Blud 03" thanks Blud. I broke the hell out of em. Wasn't a ball within one foot of another one. Nothing went in. Well, she ran her seven balls and BANKED in the eight. First time in her five years of playing. She smilled like the fox she is and said "Rack Em". What a doll baby. Wouldn't take a million buck for her. That was the best game of pool I ever played.

Go Susie, go girl.

I had a few good games with your old man when he was down here. I forget the score, [15 to something?????] can't remember who won, & matters not who won, we had a good time knockin-um, around.

god bless you two

Don is a great guy. He invited me out to his favorite pool room. I had a late breakfast there (the food was great). He showed me his shop, which included a peek at his cue collection (some beautiful Bluds among others), and then cleaned my shaft and shaped my tip no charge. Then he gave me some other stuff to clean my shafts with. We had a blast playing each other at one pocket and nine ball as well. I didn't know this guy from Joe Schmoe before that day, and he treated me like we were lifelong pals. Don, can't wait to make it down your way to play again. I'll be out of pocket here for a few weeks, but I'll be getting in touch soon. Work prevented me from getting back to you the other day, and then I've just been busy. You know how the military is...duty first!

Take care,
Matt

Blud, it was about 18 to three, with all the sharking you did, Ha, Ha!! Sure as hell helped my one pocket game. Ask ol' Matt there. He is a guy I met here on AZ. Really good kid. Enjoyed showing him how to play one hole.
Matt, I can't wait, it will be good to see ya again. Hope everything is going well, and thanks for your service to our country. Taking care of your shaft is the least I can do for ya buddy. When ever you are ready, I can probably get you a nice deal on a custom "Blud". A real "Kick Ass" cue.
The ol'lady ran out on me!!!! Whats this world comming to guys. Ya know, after they realize they can do it, watch out. That was a real confidence builder for her.
Talk to ya all soon. Don P.

I used to play a lot in that Sterling poolroom before leaving Virginia and moving back to Hawaii about 8 years ago. What happened to the two couples who owned the room? If I remember correctly one of the owners had a nice Black Boar cue. Very nice people, and a nice place to play at.

Don,

The Bluds were "kick ass", but I gotta stick with my Timmy Scruggs. That's my baby! I spoke to Blue briefly on the phone and I had a chance to tour his shop when I was in Texas, but unfortunately the time I had to devote to work prevented it. Maybe next time if Blud's up for it.

I'm not so sure about that "enjoyed SHOWING me how to play one hole comment.." ;) If I remember correctly I faired well against you in both games...but my man Don's got some banks. I was ready to believe you'd rather bank a ball then shoot it straight in the hole. And your nine ball break is a terror. I can run out fairly consistent, but I break the balls like my 80 year old grandma.
:)

Looking forward to playing you again Don, and hopefully it won't be long before your wife can spot you 9-6 and the cracks for all tha' loot!

Take care,
Matt

Thank you Road Runner 711, I will take that as a compliment. It's not HOW MUCH that comes out of the mouth, it is WHAT comes out of the mouth. I appriciate your honesty, however, darkness can not enter a brightly lit room. Just read Matt's post and you will see what kind of guy I am. You and all the other negative posters in this forum don't bother me a bit. You gotta live with your self man, I don't. Some day I might tell you how to wake up EVERY morning looking forward to each day. Loving life and looking for someone to help out in some way.
May all your balls fall in the right hole.
God Bless, Don P.

Your best game is most definetely running your mouth, that you are an A player at, you get the 7 and the snap on that one.:D

I think Fast Larry could give anybody the last 3 on running the mouth.

Do you know Fast Larry? Is he still fooling with "8 ball ho" from Key West? I think she is probably the only one who would have anything to do with him, sexually that is.

I think Fast Larry is probably Road Runner's twin brother. I know that they both went to the same school. Got the same attitude towards life, thats for sure. Take care Wally.
