Best Unknown for the Money

Who is the best unknown player for the money? Jack Cooney in my opinion is the best mover of all time, but who can hang with any of them when the game is tough for high money, that is not well known (players not on the the pro tour)?

The best unknowns are the countless players from Taiwan and the Philippines that never come out of the woodwork, but when the WPC qualifiers come along, they show a whole lot of game.

Also, let's not forget John Q Public of Anytown, USA. That guy never misses!

i second the above response.........players remain "unkown" because no one goes around dropping their name.

I seem to get the sense that the best "unknown" players aren't really unknown, but are simply not as famous as other pros. I know of several players who are low-key house pros that are feared by all the locals, but can often get the best of a more famous pro simply because he doesn't know who they are.

good player

there is a guy in my area named Joe Armeni that'll beat everyone around. (pronounced Armeenee) imo he's the best around here.

I remember this guy, hispanic, that came into our local ph with his significant other (lady). She sat on a stool, pulled out some knitting from a large bag she carried and he began to work the room. His game of choice seemed to be last pocket 8b. He probably made a couple of hundred over a period of 5 to 6 hours and then left. Never seen him before or since. He hid his game so well, we could never figure out how good he really was. Every once in a while he would make a great shot when he absolutely needed to, other than that, his game was rather mundane.
