Well it has been a while since I have posted in here. I see a lot of new faces. Before I left a while ago I said that I was planning on writing a book based on aiming systems. Well, I lied... sort of... while writing the book I came up with an idea and after some late nights I am ready to introduce it. It is called the Billiard Architect and I developed it for android. (sorry IPhone guys, I don't have it for you yet).

How does it work? Here are the 3 easy steps to find out the fractional aiming for any shot on the table.

1)First input the distance
2)Line the edge of your phone where the green dot is above the object ball, align the dotted line with the cueball path
3) tap the screen in the direction you want the object ball to go.

On the bottom of the screen is a graphical representation of the ball to ball overlap as seen when shooting the shot. Or commonly known as fractional aiming.

I just uploaded it to the market... attached are some screen shots.

To find it search the market for Billiard Architect, let me know what you think...

I'd like to see a demo version before spending $5 on it. Hard to pull the trigger based on what I see in the android market.

Otherwise it's intriguing.

John - (aiming system nerd)

I tried to come up with a demo model without giving it away. It really can't be done. I can't display the fractional aiming in large increments as that would not be accurate and that is the whole basis of the app is accuracy.

Android Market allows you to do a 24 hour trial period before the charges become permanent so you do get to demo it for a day and if you like uninstall if it doesn't fit your needs.

Great. I will do that then.

John I went to buy it and it says I only have 15 minutes to return it for a refund. Is there a setting on your side to extend it to 24 hours or somewhere in between?

Even an hour would be enough time to play with it.

Hmmmmmm... That is the way it used to be. I have no other settings for the market to increase it. 15 minutes is pretty quick. Well 15 minutes would be enough time to test if it works. Within the first 30 seconds you will see how it operates and determine if it is something you want.

Remember that the dashed cueball path is not the anticipated cueball path. Cueball path would be if you were to make a dead on no angle shot. I am going to do a youtube video this weekend on the proper method of use and that will help you see a demo.

Ya know the most convenient thing about all of this is you are able to talk one on one with the developer :) Try and do that with Micro$oft....

So what should I charge?

I will put it up to you... What should I charge for a tool like this? I charged $5 to go in line with the Break App which only handles one shot on the table in which mine handles every shot after the break. If you buy any of the other tools out there like the BAT or Spider you are paying 7 to 10 times what I am charging for something that is 10 times more accurate and will actually teach you something.

This is not a 5 angle aiming application. It will show you within 1/100 of an inch the cueball to object ball overlap.

I am adding another section to it to help you practice when you are away from the table and am in the works of adding some visual aids. (I won't go into detail so as not to get ripped off.) It was my fault for posting it...

So to buy something that will improve your game and help you later on is worth how much?
