I gotta say one more thing. What makes a community a community is that some folks decide to step up and be watchdogs and protect people. Tate did that for me, he is scrupulously honest and very forthcoming with information, and Marcus is completely fearless in standing for what he thinks is right and AZ is a better place for that.

To me MINT would mean just like new . NO dents, no scratches, no roll in the cue or the shafts, Meaty tips , No blueing what so ever .

IMO a refinished cue could be mint but the seller should disclose the fact that the cue has been refinished and by whom.

That's excellent to me, actually excellent refinished. I think what we are both really saying is that its subjective, which is why every time you sell something the buyer didn't actually see you have to offer a satisfaction guarantee. Otherwise you end up in a discussion about what subjective terms mean.

man sometimes it's better being lucky than smart. i've purchased two cues off this forum, and honestly did less research on the sellers than was wise. both vendors were precisely accurate with the description of their offering and every detail of our verbal contract executed. anyway, after hearing the details of this miserable transaction i thought now would be an excellent time to contrast him with the two gentlemen who treated me beyond fair: fast & loose and highend cues. thanks guys it was a pleasure. regards, lou

Mike, as I also have insight I am going to suggest that you speak in a civil tone to all our members.

Understood?

This really bothers me too. Apparently Mr. Wilson has "insight", then allows a sham sale and forum members to get outright screwed, and his concern is that Gartland speaks in a civil tone. Yes, I know I'm on thin ice, but this really bothers me. I thought you were here, Mr. Wilson, for our benefit and protection. If you had "insight" you should have put a halt to it.

I am glad that it worked out for you. You were fortunate to pick sellers with great integrity. There are several others that are great as well. I have made several deals (and another in the works) with Jamie Wernsman. He is a fantastic person to deal with.

I am still angry about how I was deceived by Tank. Have you ever lost $2500 on a cue? That is real hard pill to swallow. I have learned a lot (albeit the extremely hard way) about cues and cue dealers. Tank decided to make the quick buck but if he was smart he could have had a customer for life (me). He made the wrong decision and it will cost him many deals down the road by the potential customers that now know about his business practices.

As for Mr. Gartland, he made his own bed. Now he must sleep in it. He also reduced his customer base by his antics in this thread.

I am a lot of things but I am not dishonest...

I am fairly certain this thread will eventually get pulled. That is a shame because of the information given to the rest of the AZ community today. People ned to use and READ the "Buyer/Seller transaction report". I am going to add these two names as a "Buyer Beware". On the internet the only thing you truly own is your reputation. At least mine is still intact.

Thank you very much to Marcus, Chris (SwissChris), Ross, RayJay, Tony, Doug and many others for exposing a dishonest seller. AZ truly applauds your efforts...

I'm sure being a Moderator here is a very Thankless and unrewarding job. I wouldn't want it.

HE'S HERE REALLY, TO MAINTAIN CIVILITY AND ORDER.... THAT'S ABOUT ALL. MEMBERS NEED TO LOOK OUT FOR EACH OTHER.

ESCROW, AND DOING RESEARCH AS A BUYER, ARE HERE TO PROTECT US. IT'S NOT THE MODERATORS JOB TO POLICE EVERY THREAD MAKING SURE THAT DEALS ARE FAIR, AND THAT BUYERS ARE SAFE.

I ALSO AGREE WITH MIKE, THAT I WOULD WANT NO PART OF BEING A MODERATOR ON AN INTERNET FORUM.

I can tell you that I learned something I won't forget about the undesireable tactics of two members in this thread.

I wouldn't want it either, Mike, it is a thankless job, but apparently he knew that somebody was going to get screwed, and if it's his job he should do it.
