This is Jerry Rauenzahn's first bridged 4 pointer cue he's ever built. Jerry and I designed this baby a couple years ago and to my surprise it was delivered today. WOW!!!!

It sports an elephant ear wrap, ivory ferrule, short 3" butt sleeve just like George Balabushka's cues, double nickel.silver ring work at the "A" joint with ivory inlays, and four rows of four maple diamonds inlaid in the sleeve outlined with thin maple veneers. Points and butt sleeve are ebony and the veneers look electric with light on them. The finish and fit are unbelievable!!!! It seems like every time I ask SIR JERRY to build something new he knocks it out of the park.

I have done business with Mr. Rauenzahn for years and I can't explain how thrilled I am with his work, communication, kindness, his humbleness, and how he goes about perfecting his work. It's an extraordinary experience!!!

This cue surpasses my expectations BIG TIME!!! I can't wait to go play tonight and show it off.

Enjoy,

John Marshall

I admire bridged veneers........the best I've seen were from Richard Black but gotta say Jerry did a heck of a job making this cue that turned out spectacular.
For looks, over hit/ feel and affordability, it's hard to come up with a better cue-maker name than Jerry. Great design....gorgeous veneers! Best of luck with this cue.

that veneers are really electric

Jerry is a damn nice Cuemaker who listen always his Customers what they want, he nailed always the weight what you have ordered, which is not so easy if you are not proud of your work.
Can't wait to get my new one which is in the Air:thumbup:
John, enjoy your table time with:wink:
Ralf, always a happy camper with Jerry's work:D

Wow John, another absolute stunner of a cue. Everything looks to be perfect as usual. Another great piece to add to you "Treasure Chest" of Jerry's work. Congrats again.
What is the joint configuration? Ivory or SS?

Jerry and I chose a 5/16-14 SS pin and stainless steel joint for balance and firmer hit on this one.

Yowza! Great choice on the joint, I love mine, that thick walled SS joint has a nice snug pilot fit on the last turn that really makes it ping. I just got back from the pool room 10 minutes ago and put my beloved -R- through the paces...I hit one of the highest gears I've hit in over 10 years and was putting quite a few packs together (10 ball and 9 ball) playing some pretty sporty players. I love it when pool is really, really fun! :grin-square:

Those colors on your cue really pop! Great choice on the wrap, I'm a big fan of elephant ear. That butt sleeve is so old school sweet, it's giving me a toothache! Enjoy it, I'm jealous.

It's the tongue on a shaft sized to fit the pilot that makes the fit snug at the joint not the "thick walled SS"... It says in your "signature" you're using a Gulyassy shaft on your -R-. Is that the shaft that fits snug or the -R- shaft?

Yes, both the Gulyassy and my -R- shafts snug up. I can tell you, the wall of the joint sleeve on my -R- is thicker than my Schon, Joss and GEM cues, all of which are SS 5/16x14.
