I would also like to add after I bought the cue from another AZ'r, Mr. Varney got in touch with me about a VERY minor flaw with one of the shafts and offered to fix it for free. I belive he is very concerned with customer satisfaction no matter if you buy a cue from him or not. My next will be from him.

Thank you for the kind words Hambone. Yes your cue has my "Templeton" taper. After Mike received the cue at the SMS...he said he played a match with it and said it played great but he wanted a fatter shaft...so I made him another one. When he picked it up...he said he wasn't sure what he was thinking, but the original shaft was actually a bit too fat and now the new one was definately too fat. Mike's a good friend & a fine gentleman so no disrespect toward him. But the moral of the story...don't judge cues or order shafts when drinking...LOL!!!;)

Do you make any that are fancier, or just converted "house cues"?
I've promised the Mods I'll be nice on this forum.

But yes...I make fancier...spend some $$$ and try one.

All the pics are just sneaky pete's. Post some pics of somthing with veneers, a wrap, or even inlays. I'm curious to see how they stack up.

Btw, do you use your own blanks?

I think there's a market for someone who specializes in sneaky petes.

Why not "be nice"? I only asked a honest question about your cues.....

I'm guessing you are with the Billiard Enquirer? Curious why...do you have interest in purchasing one? And why should I reveal the source of my blanks to you? But I will...some of my blanks are indeed my own...some of the fancier ones with multiple points & veneers are from another maker. I have no problem admitting that. I'll be glad to post some pics. I'll have my wife download some this evening. I post pics of mostly sp's because thats the hot seller. Everyone wants one or a j/b because they are affordable and play as well a high end cue. Not everyone wants an expensive cue. I receive way more orders for fancy hustlers & j/b's than for higher end stuff. And thats fine by me, they take less time to make. I'd rather sell 10 cues for $375 than spend ten times the time making one to sell for $1000. But you can get whatever you are willing to pay for.

Thank you sir. Indeed, indeed...I seldom have time to actually go to the pool room anymore. But I'm not complaining...happen to have a table right here.;)

Kevin-
I'm curious as to why you are so quick to become hostile? I merely asked if you could post some pics of some of your fancier cues. That's all. EVery time I see a Varney cue on here, its a sneaky pete. Now there is nothing wrong with that. I was simply curious to see some of your other work to be able to formulate an opinion. Is that so out of line???

As for whether or not I have an interest in purchasing one, I'll tell you this much... I will NEVER purchase a cue based on a cuemaker's word that he can and does do fancier work. I want to see examples first.

When I ask about where you get your blanks, I ask because some people cannot pull off a quality full-splice like I have seen on some of your sneakys. So, in essence, that could be a compliment. But you chose not to see it that way. Another reason I asked about the source of your blanks is that a lot of cuemakers today are using Schmelke blanks. And I happen to know one cuemaker whose Schmelkes are warping over short periods of time. Thus, this is nothing more than an inquiry as to the quality of materials used.

I can't figure you out Kevin. You come on this forum in an effort to sell more cues, advertising that they are so good and they play better than most. Yet you alienate yourself and scare off business by becoming unnecessarily hostile and aggressive.

I've never used Schmelke blanks. In fact just this week forum member Jerry Yost asked me if I would...I refused. The quality of my materials is first rate. Have you yet to see anyone who owns a Varney unhappy? Search "Varney" and see for yourself.

I asked to see something "fancy" myself, yet all I got was "I promised to be nice"....

Always on the defensive.:(
