My buddy got this case off craigslist with an old D series McDermott for $100. The case is in good shape and the cue is in new condition, not bad for a c-note. Does anyone know who made the case? It isn't marked with a name or logo anywhere. The pocket is different from most of this style that I've seen. Just curious. Thanks in advanace.

I would guess it's an early Ron Thomas case...

It looks like a Its George 1x2. The side stiched seams, the inside cover with matching leather. Does the strap adjust using a flat metal hook? If so, then that and the fellini style lock is consistent with an early Its George.

As for being a Ron Thomas, did he ever use fellini style locks? The ones I've seen are usually clean (no locks) or snaps on the side.

I had a George case it looked just like this one except the bottom of mine said the name and had the little silver nubs or things ?? on it <<ED

I agree...It's george...probably just missing the name on the bottom...i have one exactly like it.

I figured It's George too but was thrown off by the lack of any logo. The It's George case I use to have also had a rectangle shaped pocket with a zipper in the middle. I hadn't seen one a half circle shaped pocket.

Hmmmmm. This case is interesting. I have owned many many it's George cases and have never seen this pocket design before. Nor have I seen one unstamped. However the pad inside the lid is typical of a George as well as the strap design and side stitching. It's George cases also have white cotton material stitched along the top of the felt deviders and this case does not. The zipper on the pocket looks like the kind It's George used. But I'm on the fence here. I am going to vote non-it's George. If it is one I would have to say it's a prototype or something like that. I recommend contacting John Barton. He may have a clue.

man i am confused....not sure what it is the interior and pocket is throwing me for a loop.....someone please solve help him out as i am want to know also....really cool....looks line fellini interior...

i am going to guess......i will throw this out ann gore....

My vote is an early ron thomas. Its very similar to an early ron thomas case that I have, but there are some notable differences.

Just a thought. Also look inside the pocket and under the pad in the lid for any markings/signatures etc.

I would be curious what Ron Thomas similarities or differences this case has?

I'm surprised John Barton hasn't chime in.

@Campos Cues,

Can you take a picture of the bottom, and a more detailed picture of the strap. I'm betting its a hook/eyelet.

Whatever the outcome, your buddy got a good deal.

@Tattoo
I'm curious what distinctive features would make it an Ann Gore? This cue case has plastic end caps. Did Ann Gore make cue cases in that style or only the fellini style with ends covered in leather?

Note: the sewn seam on a George rounds off at the Top on the lid. This appears to be squared off.

New Pics

Here are a couple new pics of the latch, seam, and strap adjuster. There was no signature inside the pocket anywhere. The pad in the lid seemed to be glued down. The zipper reads "scovill". Let me know if it rings any bells. Thanks for the help.

The case is most likely an It's George, with the only other possibility a Thomas. The lining could have been replaced at some point, but there are too many similarities to be any other makers.
