at the bca I bought billiard chalk that was 2 peices for 5 bucks. it was called blue diamond. ever heard of it?

I am one of those that think masters pre-flag was better and have been wanting a better quality chalk for a while. I dont think I would spend 2.50 for chalk the rest of my life though. hell the pool dawg booth gave me a 12 pk of masters for free.

I picked up some Blue Diamond chalk after having it recommended by Oscar Dominguez. I thought that Master chalk was pretty much the best until I tried Blue Diamond. It appears to stick to the tip better and is not as dusty. I noticed less miscues than with Master.

If you like the Blue Diamond chalk you may also want to try the IPT chalk. People have been saying it's just Master with the IPT label on it by I don't think it is. It seems to hold to the tip better. Deno won't give up the maker, but if he had a hand in picking the manufacturer he probably chose a billiard chalk company.

I remember

I remember reading about this- and I thought it was Longoni that was distributing in USA. I would like to try it out just for the heck of it. Anyone know where to order online?

I just bought a gross of Blue master (144 pieces) for about 23 bucks.

I've been working on my Gross of chalk ( Masters, of course ;) ) for over two years.

I think it will be a while before I buy any more.

I too a working am working on the LAST half of a Gross of MASTER GREEN
it works well...:)

I tend to use triangle chalk (the most common type in UK) but the best stuff I have used is buffalo chalk, the only problem is that it was blue and other players started whining that I was using blue chalk. I have tried quite a few chalks including master, silver cup and balabushka but I think the buffalo chalk outperforms them all.

We USED to have a guy on our team who would, when we first got to a big tournament, walk through the tables and pack his pockets with all the new chalk he could find. Real classy.

So, according to him, you all paid too much!:p

Thank you. The IPT has a website as well and their chalk is $27.95 a gross.
Not sure who makes there chalk, but I wont be buying it. Efren and Sigel miscued a few times in the KOH finals. Seemed kinda weird, Lori Jon was like "Whats going on here" after the third miscue by them. I think Sigel Miscued twice and Efren once.

I'll stick to Master Blue because it sticks the best IMO.

UK Chalk default color ?

Most chalk in most US pool rooms is blue (typically Masters Blue).
So what color is the norm in the UK?

I love Blue Diamond Chalk

I bought some Blue Diamond Chalk on the recommendation of Dale Chilton. I bought 8 cubes and after trying them won't go back to masters. I get more consistent english and the tip grips the cueball better. I don't miscue either. I have let a few people try it, and they all told me to get them more. It coats the tip better and it plays better.

I'm giving you my opinion. Who knows, maybe having new chalk increased my confidence and makes me play better mentally.

Don't buy it from BilliardsImports, they still haven't sent me my order after 1.5 months.

I had one guy tell me that the type of chalk you use doesn't matter, it all plays the same. This guy has a sweet stroke, and when he tried the BDC, he was amazed. I gave him the chalk for helping me try it out, and he still has it.

Of course if y'all stick with master's I won't have such a hard time getting more. I have 50 cubes on order, and all of them are promised out.

I'll help you out there...it'll be a while before I pay $2.50 for a cube of chalk. :p

IMHO IPT chalk is the best chalk out there, ill keep using it until i can no longer find it "might no be very long"

I stick to green Masters nowadays. Back in the UK I loved the old green Triangle stuff, never like the Blue Diamond.
