General observation, not directed to or at anyone
Weak players like fast cloth because it’s easy to play on, you don’t have to get “on the ball” good you can play long and/or out of line shots and the cue ball will HOPEFULLY land for another long and/or out of line shot, and the saga continues until your run ENDS finally by missing one of these shots; unless of course you get LUCKY and finally somehow end up “on the ball” good.
When playing on slow nap cloth you HAVE to get “on the ball” good, two foot shots NOT seven footers; most players are not great position players, they rely on just getting a shot because the NEW SCHOOL of pool is based on shot making NOT position play. With TIGHT pockets you CANNOT survive by JUST GETTING A SHOT, you HAVE to get “on the ball” GOOD.
Pool rooms WILL NOT change their clothes to “slow” because they rely on dates, groups, and family’s to come out and have FUN by POCKETING balls. If they install 4 ½ inch pocket openings and 80/20 Mali they might as well open a “Wawa” or “Piggly Wiggly” because there will be NOBODY there, NOT even D or C players. B players will come but struggle. A players will survive IF they can find a place to play.
