Color of Money question

This is a lil off topic but what does it mean when Amos asks Eddie if he thinks he should lose some weight after he beats him. I don't think eddie was spotting him anything so was amos just being a smarta$$ or what that part has always puzzled me.

I've always took that comment to mean that Amos was letting Eddie know that he knew Eddie was trying to hustle him. Amos was acting goofy and maybe being a little overweight was part of the hustle, he knew Eddie took him for a chump until Eddie himself got hustled by the "chump'. He was basically saying "do you think I need to lose any part of my act assh***?"

Imagine how many non-gambling movie goers had no choice but to assume he meant something about his beer belly.

however in the hustler Eddie didn't give Burt his "cut" .....( I don't think) ....just left the room ...

Hippie

If I remember correctly Bart told Eddie he could never play big money pool again if he didn't pay up. Eddie's walking away was The Tell that he was done playing pool. COM picks up years later when Eddie is a successful Liquor salesman who has been out of the game for years.

BTW I feel "Hustler" was a lot more real and more of a inside look at the hustle than "COM". But both were great pool movies that other pool movie have never been equal to.

"COM" where Eddie and Vince go running into a now Closed Pool Hall from 25 years ago was an other great Tell about the Game in general. 20 years later we are still seeing this happen as the Game is no longer what it used to be.
