I had the pleasure of attending this tournament for Saturday and Sunday and seeing how dominant Darren Appleton is at the game of 8 ball. Congrats to him on the victory.
Also the crew for accustats is unbelievable in every way. From the camera operators to the shot clock-there's a lot more to this production than I originally thought. The level in quality and equipment has increased since I last saw Pat at turning stone back in 2007. Production value is extremely high.
Mr Renfro from Outsville introduced me to his Ki-tech tips and invited me to try them out on the tv table during a break. Very impressive tips and can't wait to play long term with one.
Also three cheers for the Outsville accu rack system as well. I saw huge thunderous breaks (even an 8 ball off the break by Darren) with racking time taking a fraction of the time of normal events utilizing a traditional rack. I would love to see the joss tour switch to the accu rack. These matches flew by without the racking drama, and I have to say the accu rack was a big part of that.
The level of play was unreal, not just from Daz but from the entire field. The dvd of earl strickland and Francisco Bustamante will be one for the ages. Earls jacked up full table length shot to spin and separate the cluster and get on the hill was unreal. The entire crowd went nuts. I'll remember that match for a while.
Just thought of starting a thread for anyone else to comment on their experience or thoughts. Thanks to Pat Fleming and Ed at sand castle billiards for creating such an event. Can't wait for next year.
