Jimmy M. placed 2nd at the Arizona BCA State Championships. Read all about it here.

In the past, I know some AZB'ers have sponsored a few players for the US Open. Is this going to be done again this year? If so, I'd like to proudly nominate Jimmy as one of those to be sponsored. Anybody else interested in pooling resources to send a well-deserving member of our community to the Open?

Congratulations, Jimmy M.!:) The next best thing to winning is coming in second place, I always say! The cash comes in handy, too. :D

BTW, if somebody wants to start an AzBilliards' 2006 U.S. Open candidate list, then I hereby officially nominate Jimmy M. to be included in the Best Qualified category. :)

Any seconds?

I second it, taking the prerogative as an AzBilliards Member.

All in favor, say "aye."

[Chorus of ayes.]

Those opposed, say "nay."

[No response.]

The ayes have it. I hereby make a part of this record the inclusion of Jimmy M.'s name on the 2006 AzBillards' U.S. Open candidate list. :p

Jimmy is a fine candidate...I have no objection to Jimmy and I will contribute as I did the last time, but I'd like to nominate AzB's Katrina victim Joey A. (Aguzin). Many of you just recently met Joey and can attest to his qualifications...

I second it. The motion to include Joey A.'s name on the 2006 AzBilliards U.S. Open candidate list carries. :)

I heard the only reason he did so well is that he forced them to let him play with a wacky cue ball with all these little numbers on it ;-)

Seriously though, well done Jimmy. If you don't get an AZB-sponsored place will you be playing in the US Open anyhow?

Congratulations Jimmy. Now Rude(Man )dog must be jealous of your accomplishments in the recent times

I'm actually not sure yet. Every year I want to go but it just hasn't happened yet. The one year that I was definitely going, my job prevented me from actually making it (at the last minute, no less).

Vagabond: Rude Dog is still the reigning Lake Havasu World 8-Ball Champion. :D

I had planned on being there but Saturday is my sons birthday and the following week I'm going to California for 10 days. So, I think I'll be skipping this one to be here with my family. Good luck to you Ken, hit 'em straight and break 'em hard. Peace, John.

P.S. Jimmy paid me a nice sum to say all that and not show up.:D
P.S.S. Yes Smorgassbored, it was I that AzB sent to the U.S Open in 2004. Jimmy was also supposed to go but his job pulled a fast one on him and he had to cancel.

I would love to see az sending a member to the US Open again this year.

I donated last year, and I would love to do that again for this worthy cause this year.

Can we send the same person twice? ( I am just curious. I think Jimmy is a great choice, so is Joey A.)

Is anyone organizing this?

Richard

I am also looking forward to the 2006 AZB senda memba in September!

Same guy twice? OK!! Just Kidding- as a previous winner (2005), I vote that we not ever do anyone 2x...unless they get top 3, then we throw 'em right back in!
