It looks like Dennis perhaps won't be able to play Darren in Vegas this time, but then Rodney Morris is ready to step up and play Darren for the same amount, same race, same dates.

So there will be a 10-ball match in Vegas.

If Dennis will play Darren, then Darren vs Rodney will happen sometimes later this year. (Darren said so in another thread)

So, what's the line on Rodney Morris vs Darren Appleton?

Rodney Morris, US Open Champion. Runner-up in the IPT World Open.

Darren Appleton, World Ten Ball Champion.

i would like to get a sweat bet on darren. im thinking darren +10. pm me if interested. thanks.

Obviously I like Darren, because he keeps putting money in my pocket, but I do believe that Rodney is better than Dennis, so it's a tough call to make...

People said Dennis Hatch was/is favourite over Darren, and then they should feel the same about Rodney too, imo

I'm way out of the loop on this one. When is it going down?

I'll take Rodney if anyone's willing to throw me a few on the wire...

I love how you plant these seeds about who is better, then bet on the other guy. lol

I am serious. I had never heard of Dennis Hatch before this match-up, and now Darren is gonna play a US Open Champion, a seasoned Mosconi-cup player and the guy who finished 2nd in the World biggest and most impressive 8-ball field ever put together.

It's a tough call

And Darren just played Rodney a few days ago and lost. I realize it was a short race to 10, but that will certainly be on his mind the next time they play.

see what your trying to say beetle and respect your opinion

but i have beat rodney before twice we played in tournaments once in bca 07 9ball think 11-6 to me and he beat me vf 10-6..

but it will certainly not be on my mind simply because i played bad in that tournament plus tournaments short race..neither of us played good~!

race to 100 there can be no excuses if u lose....esp for 20 big uns!

but lets see what dennis does first

Hi Daz,

I know Rodney is a big family man, but he moved to Phx. some months ago, and has not been in action of any kind as yet.
Guess he has a pretty heavy tournament schedule.

If it doesn't work for you guy's in Vegas (pretty hectic up there) I know a place in Surprise with a brand new Diamond Pro set up by RKC himself. I'm almost sure you could live stream it from there... Huh Larry ?
Or if TAR or you guys want a gate, Kolbys, Bullshooters or Sweet Tooth now have some real good equipment, and plenty of room.

Very limited sweater seating at Larry's, but I would bet there would be action up the kazoo on AZB.

Cheers,

Dick

PS. "Your my ace, if you never win a race." (which is VERY unlikely)

Allow me to remove the rock.

I am pretty sure you are under some rocks every now and then too... There's just too many good players out there, and without proper pro ranking/leagues it's difficult to know who is playing what level.

I am not ashamed to admit that it's impossible to know everyone under circumstances like that.

Ever heard of Klaus Zobrekis? Chris Melling? Carlo Biado? Mick Hill? Stephan Cohen? Bruno Muratore? Christian Reimering? All of these are very good players, and there is especially one of them in that mix that I would put a lot of my money on betting against Hatch. You tell me who you think it is. (Don't use the search-function, that's cheating)

Had you heard of Darren Appleton 3 years ago? Or Karl Boyes? I had.

How about the Filipino Roberto Gomez? Had you heard of him before he finished runner-up in the World Championship? I actually wrote about him on this forum, in February that year, saying he will be the next World Champion. I was almost correct.

I make my living off the evening news
Just give me something-something I can use
People love it when you lose,
They love dirty laundry

Kick them while they're up
Kick them while they're down
Kick them in their shins
Kick them all around.

Pool folk sure can be a fickle lot!
