Darren Appleton - Rodney Morris, race to 100 for $ 20,000 a man, on TAR

Who cares if someone drums up interest in a TAR match before TAR announces it? Jeez now FREE publicity is a bad thing??????

This is getting ridiculous. Having two threads and backer drama and a backup plan with Rodney/Daz is EXACTLY the kind of thing TAR needs other people to do FOR THEM without prompting.

Unreal.

I am pretty sure you are under some rocks every now and then too... There's just too many good players out there, and without proper pro ranking/leagues it's difficult to know who is playing what level.

I am not ashamed to admit that it's impossible to know everyone under circumstances like that.

Ever heard of Klaus Zobrekis? Chris Melling? Carlo Biado? Mick Hill? Stephan Cohen? Bruno Muratore? Christian Reimering? All of these are very good players, and there is especially one of them in that mix that I would put a lot of my money on betting against Hatch. You tell me who you think it is. (Don't use the search-function, that's cheating)

Had you heard of Darren Appleton 3 years ago? Or Karl Boyes? I had.

How about the Filipino Roberto Gomez? Had you heard of him before he finished runner-up in the World Championship? I actually wrote about him on this forum, in February that year, saying he will be the next World Champion. I was almost correct.

which one of them would you bet alot on against hatch?

You got that right. There's a lot of things unreal!

Donny, if Dennis Hatch goes to the philippines and play Carlo Biado, I would bet on Carlo. But thats just me, I might pick the wrong horse.

Hey, its cheap to stay there, and a ticket is only around 1000 dollars I believe. Hatch could get all the action he want, sounds like heaven for the best money player on earth.

Rodney

Rodney was here in Okinawa last week and he was playing well. Thanks to his trip though Japan his bank roll is also extra fat. On a side note Id like to says he is one of this games best ambassadors as well.

Now that's funny!

To the two of you, allow me to remove that rock

And we have a winner!

I would bet on Carlo if he played Dennis Hatch, that's for sure.

I think I would bet on Carlo almost no matter who he played.

Just curious. Have you ever seen Dennis Hatch play before?

Yes, not live though, only on youtube and livestream.

And what I have seen is enough to make me confident on the bets I already have on Darren + confident enough to be willing to bet the same if he played Carlo Biado.

I am however willing to make another sweat bet on the Dennis Hatch - Darren Appleton match, if you want to bet on Dennis.

Oh, btw, have you ever seen Carlo Biado play? ;)

(EDIT: I have seen the matches that Fast Lenny posted just about a week ago with Hatch + I saw him beat Mika Immonen at Turning Stone, lose to Ralf Souquet at Turning Stone and lose to Mika Immonen at the Expo. He is a very good player, that's for sure. Will be a very interesting match)

I will leave the forum betting for the kiddies. Me personally, I'd rather bet my dough in other arenas; that is, if I'm inclined to bet. I've been known to bet my dough, but, when and if I do, it would definitely not be on a pool forum. LOL! :killingme:

No, I can' say that I have. I just find it interesting how some folks form their opinions in these "who's the best" threads. :rotflmao:

I'd be pretty confident betting on Klaus Zobrekis against Dennis Hatch. It would be a tough game for sure but Klaus plays as good as anyone in the world when he shows up to play.

Dennis Hatch is a world beater with road experience that most can only dream of when the word "seasoning" is thrown around.

Klaus is a world beater who doesn't care too much about beating the world.

Never heard of him! :embarrassed2:

So I had to look 'em up on Google. He sure does seem to exude sex appeal, the way he's holding his stick! :embarrassed2:

You mean he's not American? Fuggetaboutit! ;)

Klaus hasn't been playing pool lately, but focused on his cloth-business Z9, but if he played tournaments I think I would like to bet on Klaus too against Hatch.

Funny how many "unknown" poolplayers there really is around the world...

It is just sad that there excist no real pro-league with proper ranking, like the IPT had.

LOL - He's german, and he's a very good 14-1 player with a high run of 356, only 4 balls less than Dennis Hatch :)

I'm possibly interested in taking Rodney in this match. Keep me in mind for bets will ya.

What kind of player wears a pink shirt? Schmidt? Keith? Corey? Somebody answer, please!!

LOL! Actually, I think I've got a picture of all of them wearing pink shirts. Must be a tournament trend! :grin-square:

Roy, It seems you are very quick to count Dennis out and push the match with Rodney. I hope you don't think it will be a easier match for Darren to play Rodney. Either way he is going to be in the tough game.
You wouldn't take a bet from me on Dennis maybe you will give me a bet on Rodney. Let me know, by the way DH and DA played at VF and Dennis made me a little $$ with that win.

The window is open and I'll take JAM

OK guys, all this talk of betting has gotten me all fired up to bet something. I'll take JAM even up against any of the guys mentioned in this thread as playing for big money and that includes Daz. I'll even bet her against the field! Any takers?
