I'm just trying to narrow down when my JW Cue was made, I'm thinking early 70's, is there any way to narrow the year down?

He used that from '72-'80. I would say pretty early on. His cues from '74 on all had rings at the joint.

Thanks for responses, Do think there are any brochures from early 70's. I've seen one but later 70's, Didn't show this cue, I guess there's no way to tell if it was a one off either

Don't think he had any brochures til he moved here to Tulsa in '74. Just a nice, basic 4pt player. Cool old cue.

garczar, Howdy;

Sounds like the one I have. Basic 4 points no veneers, nice solid good playing cue.
Mine appears to resemble the 3rd. from the Left in the bottom picture in the post
in the post above this one.
Just need to get the wrap cleaned and pressed.

Its a shame that the buttcap is busted. It will need to be replaced and when it happens the JW logo will be lost. I bought an obvious JW cue that had the buttcap replaced and I called and talked to Bill and asked him to restamp it. He did it for no charge (I gave him some anyway).

Bill is gone, so that option is not available.
