Since I don't do the MyFace or SpaceBook, can you put me down from this post?

If you want, I'll (AZB)PM you my info, payment, etc.

Thanks,

Eric

Haha

The perfect SVB format, especially with his break. I would rather see a race to 50 in both 8 and 10 ball with winner break and only playing cue used for jumping.

Is the 5k in the middle the player's corporation money? Or is it from sponsors and neither player is putting up cash?

I can't afford to gamble so I don't know what I'm talking about, but it seems like they would play differently to win other people's money than they would playing not to lose their own money. Or am I just thinking like a loser?

I think they both would like to walk out of there with 5k in their wallet, and will play hard to get it.

I think playing for a prize pot is less pressure for sure. However pressure can produce your best play, so will the cash being a prize change things?

The real pressure is on Shaw to perform, win and shock the world. If you have met him, he is no quitter. I expect him to come strong, maybe even pull of the win.

It's more than just the cash, guys. It's also about the ego. When I say "ego", I don't mean it in a douche-y way, more like the fact that any top player is uber competitive and doesn't want to lose. Hell, this could be played for a round of shots and I'll bet that neither player would want to lose.

Playing on a stream, for the world to watch, plays into this too.

Good post.

Also, this is different than your typical exhibition match. In this, only the winner gets the cash.

So it's not important where the money is coming from. Both players will be trying extra hard to win. Why? Because neither one of them wants to play at most 199 games of 10 ball and walk away with nothing.
