Could someone please give me all benefits and downfalls of both these tables. I know the pro-am is one piece slate and the pro is three piece.

Looking at purchising very soon and need to make my final decision.

Pugh,

Probably the first question that needs to be asked is: What size table are you thinking about buying? Along that line, where do you want the table to be placed?

If you're thinking about putting a table in a basement...or somewhere that involves going up/down stairs, your best bet would be the Pro with the 3-piece slate. The 9' one-piece slate weighs over 600 lbs...Not too friendly for carrying up flights of stairs. :)

They seem to play very similar to me, but I only played on one pro-am. Both are great tables. The regular diamond pro has a slow ball return.

Hi Pugh,

The Diamond "Smart" table differs in many ways from the Diamond "Pro". Other posters have given you some info. The "Pro" table also has a deeper shelf in the pocket. If you are looking for the best, get the "Pro". Be sure to have someone who cares set up the table. If you are near enough to New Albany, IN (Louisville), have them deliver and set the table up. Watch for events using Diamond tables. I'll bet Diamond would sell you one and deliver it for a very reasonable price. Will you be in Vegas for the BCA / US Open this month? Good luck!!!!

I have a Diamond Pro and love it. Most future BCA tournaments will be held on Diamonds. A three piece slate after assembly is no different than a one piece in terms of play ability. The cusions on the Diamond Pro are the best out there!
