Do any of you VISUALIZE THE SHOT, or the OB Enerting the Desired Pocket

As part of your Pre-Shot Routing, deciding if it is Left, Right, or Center Ball that will make the OB travel to the HOLE. Pool being a Game of Opposites, I think this is something some over look.

As part of my own crazy Tsquared alignment method that I developed...I visualize a complete triangle before every shot...it includes the CB path to the pocket.

I would say about 95 percent of the time I'm visualizing a line.

I visualize any shot- let it happen in my *virtual head cinema* :-)

This is something I have been working on. Does anybody have any good tips on how to practice it and maybe some different methods?

Yes. Visualize the line the OB will roll into the pocket. Also visualize the line the CB will roll to impact the OB. Call it the aim or stroke line. I then focus on the aim line, stroking the cue on that line.

visulation

This thread may help me.I allways visualize cue ball movement.Forward, backward, hit ball, hit rail, break cluster of balls bla bla.I do not consider OB path AS MUCH as cue ball path.
Thanks guys

So considering, "CB path to the pocket", are you a one ball per inning guy?

I assume you have OB to pocket and CB toward first rail.

What is the third part of the triangle or did I mess up?

Tsquared sounds complex and I am a complex technical guy.

Visualize everything as precisely as you can, then compare the results as precisely as you can. "Predict and compare" is the way to fast improvement.

Personally I often don't even look at the pocket when shooting. Often you can tell the angle just by looking at where the cueball is positioned compared to the rail closest to it.

I always finish off my shot with my eyes on the object ball. To be honest I am aimed by the time I get down on the shot and because I trust my original aim I know I don't need to look at the pocket in order to make it. If I need to look at the pocket and adjust my aim that drastically, I usually get back up and restart the routine.

Now if I need to aim at a particular part of the pocket in order to get the right cueball movement or to get in a partially blocked pocket I will look at it to make small corrections.

Sorry don't get on here much anymore

No...I like to think of myself as a 9 ball per inning guy..

The triangle is made up of

CB to Pocket
CB to OB
OB to pocket.

For some reason when I visualize the triangle formed above I can just simply shoot the CB down the CB to OB line and the OB follows the OB to pocket line.

Don't ask me to explain why it works because I can't.
All I know is that I start by looking CB to pocket....even on seemingly straight in shots...you may be surprised on how few shots are actually straight in.

The other triangle in my T2 method is my set up which is made up of my cue and foot placement/body position....but that is for a different thread.

My OB pocketed percentages are higher when not only visualizing contact points , triangulations on CB and OB paths , but when I decide on a precise point of where I want to park the cue ball for position.
When I generalize position ( in a certain area ) my percentages go down.

i learned about this not long ago and when i remember to use it, it seems to help. i'll try anything to get my game better. i also have started using the trick of putting my cue tip down on the table where i want the cue ball to stop.....that seems to help too.

I visualize exactly where I want the OB to go. Once I have that line established I then visualize the path that the CB must travel to contact the OB to take that line. Then its all concentration to achieve the disired results.

Visualization...

Visualization of the WHOLE shot, from striking the CB until the CB stops, is part of my preshot routine on EVERY shot, no matter how easy or difficult the shot may be. This seems to really help my consistency on all aspects of shot execution.
