A few years ago someone was making a fabric
sleeve that went on over the cue shaft. Are these
still available? I checked a few billiards products
suppliers and came up dry. I searched using the
obvious key words without luck. Anybody know
anything?

Thanks
Joe

Get a thick glove, cut off a finger (NO stop! From the GLOVE you idiot!), cut off the end, and there you go. There was some woman pro I've seen use one of those recently but don't remember who exactly.

I got one from Predator, give them a call

Hang,
Been cuttin' off fingers for years. I'm trying to upgrade.

King,
The product I was asking about isn't made by Predator.

Thanks!

Anyone else remember those sleeve things?

Joe

You could contact Joe Tucker. He was the first person I ever saw use one. I think The Drill Instructor, Dominic Esposito was selling last year at the SBE.

Hang,

Maybe cue slide is the right name. I just don't recall.

Thanks. I will pursue it under that name as well.

If you are talking the "slide" like Wang Can uses on his cue for breaking, I've seen them available on the internet but I haven't done a recent search.

If that is what you are talking about, I made a "homemade" version that I use on my break cue. I found a Heineken advertisement made out of thin cardboard and I cut it down into about a 4-inch square and then rolled it up into a tube and taped it all around so that the sweat from my hand didn't affect the cardboard under the scotch tape. I slide this over my shaft and use it in my closed bridge when I break and it will almost eliminate any friction from the cue sliding through your bridge. It will easily add a couple MPH to your break.

The thin cardboard is still flexible under the tape, but it is rigid enough to give you a smooth accurate slide through your fingers.

Aloha.

I think in Joe's breaking video he uses this, and even states what it's called. I'll try to remember to watch it and see if he does.

Thanks Everyone,

I guess I should have snagged one years ago when
they first came out.

Searing's wont quite work for me.

I will watch Joe's break video and see if it is there.

Thanks Again!
Joe
