dont think ive ever heard anyone say theyve taken lessons from him.....i live near him (relatively speaking in southwestern virginia). I did a search trying to find a website for him but didnt see anything like that. I dont know how good of a teacher he would be lol, but he seems to be mellowing a little with age. anyone know?

Yes, Earl does give lessons. He has for years. He gave lessons at the past Midwest Expo's and also in his hometown and at different events.

I am told that he is an excellent instructor and also that his lessons were SOLD OUT during the expo.

If you are interested in taking lessons from him, I can get him your info and he will be in touch with you.

You can e-mail me direct at windycityopen@aol.com and I will forward it to him.

He's too much of a jerk....

This does not pertain to the topic at hand...

Eydie, if you can send me info needed, I am interested as well if he is available during the open.

I just haven't found him to be that way. He has that reputation, but in talking to him I haven't found that to be true. I've seen him get pretty intense in competition, but off the table he seems pretty down-to-earth to me. It seems to me that when he's competing, he is the type that just can't accept the possibility that he might lose....I think it takes some of that to be a Champion. I wouldn't have any problem with taking lessons from him. He's certainly one of the best players to ever hit the circuit...if he can teach some of what he can do, I'd take lessons from him.

I got about an hour and a half lesson from Earl Strickland!
I was planning on playing in the first Midwest Expo and my wife made all of the arrangements by contacting Eydie and then I had to have 2 places in my neck fused long story short I left the hospital on Sunday and my wife said on wednesday morning that she was packing the dog and I up and we were going!!!!!!!
Anyways long story, like i said my wife made all the arrangements previous to the Expo and she had spoken to Edyie and then to Diana Hoppe at home as she and Earl were headed out the door to another tourney!!
My neck was to short for a brace so the doc's just let me wobble!! I had a very fine lesson and well it became more of instruction on the basics because of my recent surgery.
He. Mr.Srickland was nothing but a profesoinal!! He would turn and tell my wife how i should shoot certain shots, and she has no clue! He would let me use his stick (like I could play like him with it) :D He was working the onlookers after a while!!
All I can say is the whole experience was just wonderful and with my age I still remember I learned a thing or two!!!
IN CLOSING I GUESS MY CLAIM TO FAME IS "I WAS THE FIRST TO GET A LESSON FROM EARL STRICTLAND AT THE FIRST MIDWEST EXPO"!

A friend of mine had a 2 hour lesson from him and said it was one of the best lesson he has ever had if not the best. His only critisism was that Earl was going to do things his way, my friend asked some very specific questions which Earl just kind of gloss over and moved on to what he wanted to do.

before you promote her, you might wanna read the website you posted...

Private Lessons

Due to her hectic schedule, Allison is not offering private lessons at this time.
Roscoe, (as per your avatar) you may be color blind, but glasses, you need not!

I try to do what I can do when I can do it, and that's all I can do.
