For those just learning the game and some who have played for allot of years, just wanted to let you know, "you can draw the cue ball down table, without using bottom english". It changed my game/tangent lines/forever.

Well, of course you can. This has been known for years. I can hit the cue ball above the equator, have it go out several feet, and then reverse direction without hitting anything and come straight back. On a good day, it comes back two table lengths. Is that the shot you mean? It's called masse.Island Drive said:For those just learning the game and some who have played for allot of years, just wanted to let you know, "you can draw the cue ball down table, without using bottom english". You can do this easily. All you need are a compass, a white crayon, and some non-white paper for contrast.Island Drive said:..."you can draw the cue ball down table, without using bottom english"

I'm going to guess that when the U.S. started saying the term "english," they meant backspin or anything that made the cueball curve.BillYards said:Not to get too technical here, but 'english' refers to spin put on the sides of the ball....

I suppose that's possible, but what you're saying still makes no sense.Island Drive said:... I'm 'really' a good person.
