Earl 10 break an runs for 1million dollars

That's one hell of a combo, even without the added monetary pressure.

It is by far the ballsiest shot I have ever witnessed - before or since - a million bucks on the line - the entire room watching - you could have heard a pin drop... Who could handle a shot like that? Only Earl.

That is why he is the best. Just ask him.

I believe that Jay mentioned he had it on a hard drive but that it got corrupted so he would have to pay to have it recovered. I might be wrong, but that's what I remembered reading somewhere.

Million

I talked to somebody close to the whole thing at the Open about the tape. I was told that something is in the works, Just trying to figure out the best way to present it to ,and preserve the historical value. when it is done I will definately be buying a copy....

KookKat9Lives...Nope, that figure is exactly correct. The settlement was $600K...the lawyers got half, and Earl got the other half. However, CJ had paid Earl $50K out of his pocket (to keep quiet while CJ litigated), so Earl had to pay CJ back the $50k...leaving $250K as his end. It's still the highest one-day payday ever in professional pool. BTW, it happened in 1995...14 years ago last month. I was there too!

The $ amount he won after the court battle was less than $1Mil, but I believe was more than the $250k Jay reports in Pool Wars. I believe the ex-wife got most of it anyway!!

If you find the 1996 May or June issue of P&B mag (possibly BD) one of these magazines you'll find the article about his miracle 10 package (I wrote the article). Nick Mannino I think was George Breedloves best man.
