ebay help please

Never heard of him, but if he can meet you rather than deal with shipping, I don't know what the harm would be...

Did you notice in his "feedback", the first two cues it says he sold are exactly the same cue. Same pictures, same description.

Only 4 feedbacks/transactions, a serious problem with spelling and use of the English language, and I don't see any "venears in that Szamboti" shaft??????
I personally wouldn't let a Skip and a Zac go for a Capone, but that's just a personal taste thing. If it's worth it to you, I'd say go for it, but it's worth the extra cash to do the trade through an escrow service like Proficient.
Good luck,
dave

Look how he answered the original posters question to him:

Q: I have a Skip Weston and a Scott Zachow cue for trade if you interested.

A: Well would u trade 2 used toyota;s for 1 new mercedes ?Me either lol maybe next lifetime ok

Yea, a Skip Weston and a Zac are "Toyota's".....this guys an idiot, I wouldn't trust anything about him.

Jeff- yes I noticed that. I was thinking buyer didnt pay or something and he resold?
Dave- good point. No veneers, and he cant spell lol. I would meet him, we are only an hour away from each other. Ill email him for his number and feel him out. Pool Table Magic is between us. If I decide to do the trade maybe the owner will help with the transaction. (sorry dont know his name)

Thanks guys.

Jeff- that was me. I responded " dont float your own boat, its not a Runde or Bushka smartass. LOL He seems creepy, Im waiting for his reply. I told him if hes serious I could meet him Sunday. Its not very fancy so it has to be only slightly more valuable than my four point Skip correct?

I offered a trade of my Skip and possibley my Zac for this cue, after a reply of no, he emails me back and agrees. Anyone deal with him before? Think it is a good trade? I like the big pin over my piloted Skip. Any suggestions.

Guy sounds like a jerk off to me. If it's what ya want and you can meet the guy it might be alright or use a escrow for sure so you don't get screwed. I think your two cues are worth more than the capone so I would think that he would want your two toyota's lol

You can get a nice plain Capone from cueaddicts for 800...I wouldn't trade but that's just me.

Skip's cues seem to be doing better.

I gotta tell you, some of these auctions on e-bay are just "BIG" question marks.

Here's another Capone cue for sale with the seller having "3" feedbacks.

Capone

And the same seller above just happens to have a Runde cue for sale too.

Runde

No sooner did I post the auction about the Runde, and it has been pulled from e-bay. :D :D

Guess I was right.

But the Capone one is still there......for now. :( :(

Runde is not pulled .. follow this link

I've corresponded with the seller a lot since I was also worried about low number of feedbacks and not taking PayPal. According to the seller, his name is Bob Lewis who is listed on AZ website as a player. I got a reference from the seller, a major cue dealer website, who gave a thumbs up to Bob.

However, I still have no idea if the seller is indeed Bob Lewis.

Got nice cues listed ... but I'm not sure if I'm willing to hand over a MO for that amount of $$$$ to someone I don't already know.

Search for Capone on Wanted/For Sale forum here .. that cue used be listed here for sale. I don't know if the cue already changed ownership since the posting.

The id on eBay is very active ... I see this id on almost everything I bid on!!!

In my opinon, a good trade is when both parties are satisfied with the transaction. I've traded a few on this board, but typically with inspection period and the right to cancel the trade.

I guess I messed up the link in my post.

It very well could be a legit auction and he has the cues and they are as advertised. But you hit the nail on the head.....that's a lot of money to give to someone you don't know.

I've never bought a stick online for over a thousand dollars, but if I ever do, you can bet I'll use a go between like proficientbilliards or I won't make the buy.

Fifty dollars is money well spent to prevent losing a thousand or more.

Mike makes a real decent cue, but this doesn't look like some of his better work. For that cost you should at least be getting a cue that has even points. The short points don't line up with each other, also, at the base where the points intersect each other, they don't line up either. I first thought it might be in the photography, but a skewed photo will not show the intersection of the points being mislaligned.

I think it is a strong deal for him. IMO I would keep your cues and buy a Capone direct from Capone himself. He(Capone) had some great deals at the expo last year on the final day. I have a feeling this guy may be in CT today for the Joss event at Ultimate and I bet I know the cue dealer he is talking about giving to give the cue at this rock bottom price as he says. When I get down there I'm going to ask a few people and see if I'm right.

Theres no way I would trade the skip for a capone and the guy does sound like a jerk.I would be real leery about this guy.

This guy has really interesting selling method ... since no one is bidding on the cue, he keeps bumping up the starting bid. I think the cue started at $1,250 starting and now it's up to $1,480.

I'm curious if anyone will bid on the cue :D

I seriously doubt it.

What do you mean "doing better?"
Last I checked Mike Capone sells everything he makes and sells out at every show he attends. He does not even really have to attend the shows as his cues are in so much demand.
