Evgeny Stalev's cue - butterfly splice in shaft

I was wondering if any of the cuemakers here has ever made a cue like Evgeny Stalev's? I actually had asked a similar question in a thread about Evgeny here:http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=18750

You'll see this in the other post, but I do know Sterling makes a cheap-o version. I don't know if I want to play with a Sterling. Someone mentioned the cuemaker of Evgeny's cue, but it is a Russian cuemaker, with a website entirely in Russian.

I might eventually be interested in buying a cue more or less exactly like Evgeny's. The questions that I have, then, are:

1)Have any of the cuemakers here ever done something like this, or do they currently?
2)Would it be a lot of trouble to do such a cue with such a design (I imagine it would be, with all those splices, but I'm not sure)?
3)I guess the answer to #2 would pretty much answer this, but would it thus be very expensive to do such a thing?

To help gauge this a little more accurately, I figure to be like Evgeny's cue, maybe the black parts would be ebony wood, with maple everywhere else. The buttcap and joint and ferrule do not have to be anything fancy, maybe a white linen phenolic or whatever it is.

If any of the cuemakers could give me just a ballpark idea of what something like this might cost, I'd appreciate it.

Thought I'd add a link to a couple of pictures to make things easier, the first of the cheap Sterling version, and the second to a picture of Evgeny with his cue:
