Good old article about Richard Black.

I have known him for more than 40 years.

He made me a cue in 1978 and another in 1981.

My 2002 R Black Split Diamond model that I bought directly from Richard is still my GO TO cue- after owning probably 30 or so customs from other respected makers- that one cue still feels best in my hands. The only one that I can guarantee I will never sell.

Great old article. My Black came in 1990. It was interesting to hear that he knew that Mizerak sanded shafts so often they wore out within a year. I can attest to that though. Having seen Mizerak play in person in four decades, his cue shaft always appeared to be new, just sanded. They never had a bit of patina to them.

All the best,
WW
