I haven't seen a thread on this here yet. I saw a Facebook post from Mike showing a high-rated player from OK going 2 and out in his last 11 tournaments to players "hundreds of points" below him. The games all got removed and the venues are also suspended from entering data for now. Way to go Fargo!!!

The player and TD should be banned from all Fargo events imo. And the players in those room should boycott the events until the TD is replaced.

Edit: I’m probably too harsh on the TD. Do they know the player? Do they know he allegedly dumped multiple times? Were the races very short where a weaker player could get lucky? If they were blind to the whole thing, maybe they should be excused.

Does Mike provide tools for TD’s to check for cheating?

So what is the accusation exactly? Were there actual matches played and the guy went 2 and out, or were the results made up by the TD?
Same TD? need more info.

This is the screenshot. 500 plus comments, I only read a handful. MANY different opinions on the comments, ha ha.

And there were also a few comments that this player was well into his 70's, and maybe his game just fell off the map due to his age. I didn't read enough to know if that was squashed or not.

Steve Page, lost 11 matches in a ROW 2-0 in four different joints. Fkng nit. Never did like the guy. His modus was always to slowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww play people to the point of a fight starting. He'd have an easy 4-ball out and would play safe every shot just to fk with people. Lot of joints banned his nitty ass. One of the matches he lost was to his dingbat 'ol lady and she's like 250pts under him. Hope they ban him from Tulsa pool for life. Colossal j'off.

Thanks for the good news. I avoided tournaments that Steve Page played in because he drove me nuts. Tournament always went long if he was crawling through the winners bracket.

Wow! That is nuts. Playing like that is an even worse crime than dumping Fargo matches, imo.

I think he lost 22 matches in a row. Mike said he went two and out in 11 consecutive tournaments.

This is one of those blatantly obvious scenarios where someone is dumping on purpose to lower their rating, but what about other cases that are less obvious?

Where there's a will, there's a way and given all the high dollar under XXX fargo tournaments going on, I'm sure many are trying to get under a certain number. I really hate anyone trying to cheat, but this is reality with any handicapped system.

I’ve said this a dozen times. The caps should be random. Spin a wheel. It will solve the majority of “trying to stay under a number”.

I also think the caps are extremely exclusionary. If having any sort of handicap, which a cap is at its core, much better is to let anyone play and handicap each match.

Garczar is dead on, his style of play can only be described as trollingly slow. Like a cat playing with it’s prey before finishing it. Countless times I’ve witnessed him get ball in hand for an easy run out. But instead he lags another ball near a hole and safes his opponent. And he boosted his fargo doing that in pool league. 5 games a night. Nobody got time to pay 5 bucks a week just to play a 45 minute safety game of 8 ball. I gotta go to work tomorrow!
To your point, yep, he is old. When players decline due to a health issue it happens quick! I don’t know if this is the case. I do know all these tournament directors (3 locations, multiple directors) and fargo doesn’t give them the tools to clock something like this. 11 matches, 3 venues, more than 3 TDs.

Best post from the facebook link. A 640 fargo chimes in. Jeremy could give 640 Steve the 6 and out. Same fargo. Jeremy would wear him out. Lower fargos Petree and Biggs could give Steve a healthy spot too. Point being Steve got his 640 fargo playing cheap league and dragging out games.

that's how it's done on this side of the pond. what are the benefits of capped tournaments vs hcp matches?
