Flooded Brunswick Metros

Robertson's

Robertson Billiards Tampa
A pub was getting their roof worked on when a torrential down pour caused their unfinished roof work to leak. Two Brunswick metros had standing water on them overnight. The tables are covered in 860 grey, which obviously needs to be replaced. My question is about the rubber, they arnt going thru insurance and i dont know if they absolutely need to be replaced or not.

i would be much more worried about the rails themselves. The rubber wont be hurt by a little water. You will have a fun time trying to get the rails to all be consistant if they are all warped and crooked from being wet. If it were me doing the job, I would probably leave the table together rails bolted to the slate and all until the table dryed out compeltly. Then take the rails off and see if anything happened.

Rails a built with very dry wood, swelling occurs when it gets soaked with water. That swelling has nothing to do with the cushions, they are made from a rubber compound, therefore there is no effect on the cushions. One of the other problems you're going to have to take a look at is the backing on the slate, which is more than likely made from MDF, which when it gets wet, swells up so much it'll grow like a sponge. If the rails were built with a water based glue, they're going to start coming apart as well. So, it all depends on just how wet the tables really got, as to the damages they'll incur.
