Hard times and broken cues...

im about the most broke ive ever been in my life and am on a string of

really bad luck. last week my bk2 shaft broke i was mad obviously cause i

cant afford a new one at the moment, so i been using an old custom

break cue i bought when i first started playing.

tonight the shaft on it broke in a diffrent place, so im screwed.

seems like i just cant catch a break anymore:(. sorry just needed to vent

a little as im just totally in ahh.
 
Sorry to hear that but keep your head up.
These are the tests in life. I dont know if you are religious but i am.
I also had a very miserable time in my life. After that i was lucky in every way. And the best thing was that i apreciate the good times after that now.
Because sometimes we take too many things for granted.

believe me...good times will come. Sometimes sooner than you think.
You just have to keep the strength.

it sounds to me like its not bad luck, rather something you are doing during your break.

What a surpise another BK2 shaft breaks , I don't know about you guys but I wanna to say something like this has happened to me Hmmm :eek::wink:

Sorry about your luck man , But look at it this way Luck has nothing to do with it , it's just a phrase someone made up . If you can make a video on youtube of your break and lets us see what you maybe doing wrong so we can help you out that's what we are here for .
 
you know i have actually seen one cue maker make two shafts for one custom and both seemed fine, and both broke within the first week of play, all shafts were from same block, and the third shaft never gave a problem been on the cue 4yrs now. Unless your xraying every shaft for micro fractures or some kind of high tech equp, i think this is always bound to happen some time. By the way the shafts were all done for free on the broke ones, as they should be. But i never questioned if he messed up on those shafts, just more like bound to happen.

Hey the handrails on the side of the platform offshore have thick yellow paint on them. Some of the handrails on older platforms get rusted really bad, and the pipe inside the paint will actually desintegrate. Thats why you don't lean on handrails, it might look like solid pipe, but it COULD BE JUST PAINT! Some serious stuff, crazy but I hope you get my analogy.

Things could always be worse.

In the last 6 months I have paid $500 for a new hot water heater tank and install in my condo and a bit over $2,000 to keep my 1996 Mustang GT on the road and running sharp.(powersteering hose + labor,new ball joints and tie rod ends plus labor, new a/c compressor and associated parts and labor,new water pump,upper/lower hoses and heater hoses + labor, new front brakes-calipers,rotors,pads+ labor,new fuel pump which is mounted inside the gas tank+ labor). :eek:

Use a house cue to break with if you have too!
 
get an indestructable walmart fiberglass cue and put a good tip on it.

i was sued over my father's estate and it cost me $45,000. crooked texAss judges and crooked texAss attorneys should should be tortured to death. that was years ago and i'm still angry. the problem isn't just in your life, it's everywhere. i'm rooting for the virus.
 
Have faith in the goodness inherent in life and people. That good inner energy will bring good things to you. Get up everyday and choose to believe in what will make the world a better place and then go out and do it.
 
When this happens to me in pool I look to what i am left with, and work on that. In your case you are now stuck breaking with your playing cue. Use this opportunity to learn the soft break, or a medium speed break. Also instead of relying on power to spread the balls working on learning how to read racks and racking the balls perfectly. There is a silver lining there trust me. If you do this you will have even more weapons/options to use on the break when you get another break cue.

It aint all bad!
