Hey,

Just wanted to say hello to everybody in here. I've been an avid reader for almost half a year and just decided to introduce myself. I have been
playing more seriously (than on a "social" basis) for 3 years, and six months i months ago I completely dedicated myself to the game. I do all sorts of structured practice and try to compete in local amateur tournaments. I am planning to make it to the league the next year. The game is prefer the most is 8-ball, then one-pocket.

On that occasion i also have a question for pool fundamentals gurus if my stance seem right (pictures attached; sorry about the quality, they were taken with my Nokia 6610i).

Greets,

it really didnt seem that bad, but the pics were a little fuzzy. i think the best way for u to check out your stroke and how straight it is, would be for you to video tape yourself playing. just an idea for you to try out...

i think as long as u can sight, align, swing freely, stand comfortably, deliver a str stroke, and be able to repeat all these, its good for u.

but bear in mind there are shots that require adjustments, such as jackups, weird positions, etc etc. a consultation with instructors would do the job.

Jan- The photos don't look to bad. It appears that you're on the right track with your stance. Record yourself shooting some shots on video! Search for an instructor that does video analysis and send it to them. This may cost between $25-$150 depending on the Instructor.

Good luck!
