This is correct. For a strong player to want to play APA, there has to be a social reason. We did have one player who started almost exclusively for competitive reasons. He had won the national singles title in other leagues and wanted to add APA to his list. He never did, but the social aspect of the League eventually appealed to him enough that he drew his wife into the league and enjoyed several years of regular play with her.Otherwise, strong players in my area don't play APA. Not a knock against APA. It's just not a league designed for that level of player.
