This is the final frame of the Manalo v Immonen Match today.

My camera shuts down every 3 minutes and the frame takes about 7:30secs so it's in 3 parts. I'll post all links as I upload them.

I hope Gabba can compress, maybe join and stream them as he did last time so everyone can see it easily and get a feel of the atmosphere.

They keep saying in the press releases "playing before a packed house".
Were there really crowds of spectators there or is that all hype? I know in the still photos it looks very sparse.

If they tried to take the pictures with all the people around, you probably wouldn't be able to see anything. It was packed yesterday. Packed like a pool tournament, not packed like a football game.

Remember, someone had created a program that calculates the speed, based on the time difference between the two collisions.

I just assumed the cue ball was near the string, and that it travels 48 inches (122 cm) to the rack. 50 inches from spot to spot, less 2 inches for the ball width. Then just measure the time between two hits and divide. :)

For that 42 km/h break in another topic, I actually got 45.5 km/h, so there is some difference in what a radar is measuring. It could be because the ball already slows down by the time the radar takes it speed, or it could be that the starting position I took is wrong. (For the side rail break, it's more like 53 inches (135 cm).

Measuring the time is pretty easy to do. I used VirtualDub and GoldWave, both programs easily downloadable.

So someone had this type of recording device with software at the venue....or done by the video's audio track?

btw:

No Final Day Video
I was all set to tape a frame or two from the final, to whet your appetites to buy more KOTH video sets, but they announced that video cameras could not be used.:(

Thats the thanks we get! I was hoping you might get a couple of games from the final on video.
Obviously KT got word and decided we were a threat. :p He should be giving us BOTH a check for the fabulous advertising job that we were doing for the IPT.
Would it have been SO bad for for them to show a snippet or 2 of video on the IPT site?

I for one wont be buying any IPT videos.

Gabber..............hopefully someone wll buy one and upload it as a torrent file........;) ;) ;)
