i did a search on q wiz got no results
my search for shaft maintenece yeilded 33 pages of threads on all subjects having the word shaft in them
so can i use it to clean and smooth (i think you guys call it burnish) the shaft??
also i noticed that q wiz original has a smooth leather side and a a side thats alittle abrasive
the q wiz sold by other other stores or ob cues that have their logo on it
has a leather untreated side and a smooth leather side
are both ok to use???
thanks for your help

I sell them & recpmmend them, BUT remember that any time you use an abbrasive you are removing wood. The Q WIZ removes about as little as you can & still see results...JER

IMHO, the best way to maintain a shaft is to wipe it down with a slightly damp towel every 3-4 racks. Immediately, use the dry part of the towel to make sure you don't leave any moisture.

It works amazingly well and you aren't removing any wood.

wash my hands

when i am playing, in between sets i always wash my hands, most of the places around here have the brown color paper in the restrooms and it is a bit course, after i dry my hands i use the damp paper towel and clean my shaft then a dry piece to burnish it. my shaft stays very clean.

I take it that the rough side of the Whiz is probably in the micro grit range.
Any ideas of approx what grit it might compare to?

I have one and they do work well. Now that I have a lathe, I do all my prep work if needed before a game and don't have the need for a lot of shaft tools in my case.
